Looks just fine from my seat, maybe a lil polish on the glass. Would be a fantastic Monaco! 馃槞
Incoming....probably my Heuer Stopwatch Grail piece. Needs a little "Glam up" but once its done it will be beautiful.
Arriving next Monday 馃槉
I had the original G-Shock (DW-5000C) around 40 years ago as a daily watch during some years, and this new DW-5000R is the best tribute: made in Japan (in the same Yamagata factory), Stainless Steel case, same design, same digital functions 馃憤馃徏
Congrats Albert! I also just bought a Casio. 馃榾
Here's my new to me Casio TS-1000, the world's first wristwatch with a built in Thermometer. It was launched in 1982 and famously worn by Ayrton Senna in 1984. Mine works perfectly and is in good condition for a vintage 40+ year old plastic watch.
Thanks Michael! 馃槉
Also congrats to you! 馃憦馃徏 For sure it鈥檚 more difficult to find this Casio Thermometer in so good condition 馃憤馃徏 I also had this one, previously to the G-Shock. At that time I didn鈥檛 know that Ayrton also had one, I just found it technically interesting (I remember that you have to remove the watch from the wrist during some minutes to have an accurate temperature reading). But I was around 12-14 years old, and this one was not so strong as the G-Shock 馃槄
I have very good memories with the G-Shock, it even was my daily watch during my military service (it was mandatory at that time in my country), but a few years later, the plastic covering the stainless steel case began to crumble, rendering it useless. I hope this 2025 re-creation is made with more durable materials! 馃槈

^ Lovely, looks virtually new old stock! 馃憤
Thank you! Yes, cosmetically it's nearly flawless. Not a mark on the case, bezel or crystal.
But I am a little worried about the movement. The crown feels a bit stiff when setting the date and time compared to my other F1s. It's been keeping very accurate time though; it's an ETA 955.412.
Looking at it would say it's seen very little previous use and may have sat for a long time .
I would think it's a bit dry in the setting mechanism, oils have probably dried up.
Sometimes they ease with some regular use, conversely they can get tighter. Does it feel smooth or a bit notchy?
It doesn't feel notchy, I'd say on the smoother side. But stiff in that it takes greater finger strength to set the time/date compared to my other watches.
Is there a technique to lube the setting mechanism without taking the movement apart?
