I went down to the store yesterday but they only had the blue version in stock. The black one currently has a huge discount but needs to be ordered.

It's classed as pre-owned, never worn and brand new.
I understand all that means is they mark it as that so they can reduce it.

I learned a bit more about this series. The blue version has a different, newer movement. The black has the older movement. No idea if that's a bad thing, or just an evolution.

I walked away. Said I'd give it some thought. Slept on it. Woke up this morning and ordered the black version over the phone. They need to order it into the store. I'll be getting it next weekend.

Two new TAGs in a month. I must be having a midlife crisis.
Launched with the H02 and then upgraded to TH20. But stocks probably sold at random so you could get either. Odd that they never changed the part number considering it's quite a big change.

Yeah, I'd have expected a part number change. It's quite a significant change point.

Anyway, I go and collect it now, so will find out what I've got!!

I collected my new Carrera this afternoon.

It's absolutely stunning. The finishing is much better than I could have imagined.
It has the Heuer 02 movement.
Personally, I think the 02 is more aesthetically pleasing than the TH20, even though I understand the TH20 is a superior movement.
There is rotor noise, but it's hardly intrusive. It's no bother at all.

I hope that it proves to be reliable.

It came with a free wolf winder, a TAG Heuer travel case and a hardback TAG Heuer book.

Congrats. I think these are really nice and they haven't been in production that long so will never be abundant.

I agree on the H02 - you will occasionally catch the sound of it, or feel it spinning a lot as you raise your wrist a certain way. But I quite like it!

For sure you can definitely hear it. But I've had watches with miyota movements before and even they didn't bother me. I didn't actually realise that the nose was from the rotor freewheeling until I was reading about the Heuer 02 movement.

To be perfectly honest I wasn't totally sold on the graded colour outer ring. I think I would have preferred it to be a solid red to match the chrono hand, but that being said it is growing on me.
I like the splash of colour. I think with the black dial (I really appreciate the date wheel being black) and the silver case goes together really nicely.

I would have liked to have seen it side by side with a glass box. As looking at the photos online, I can't see any major differences, other than the date window being at 12.00.

I didn't know they stopped the production of these 2 models. There were a few thousands of each color. So you've got quite a "limited" model.
TH20 main difference with Heuer02, except the visual one, is just the rotor issue that has been fixed. No other real improvements.
