Sooooo I spied this on Tag’s main website. Appears to beeee a new Senna done in the whole 44mm titanium thing they’re doing with the F1 chronos

🤯🤯🤯
I guess this year's new Red Bull F1 Ti Chrono should've been a hint they'd go a similar route for a Senna. Need to see better pics, but it looks far more Senna like than last year's Tourbillon.

Do you have any shots of those Seikos you shared from a similar angle showing the sides? The outside of the lugs on Senna's has what appears to be some kind of notch in it, which seems rather unique. If the Seikos you're thinking of doesn't have that lug design, it may rule them out.
Hmm, I'm not sure I've ever seen anything with a cutaway under the lug like that, just looks weird. I think it's an artefact or even a bit of loose stitch from the strap.
This is the Seiko side on.
Last night I found some wrist shots on a German forum and typically I now can't find them again.

The overall look reminds me of the Hublot x Senna. Definitely need to see this Senna F1 in person.

Yeah I went to go back and check and see if it was still on the site but it looks like they removed it now. Seems someone made a boo-boo with uploading it originally

The Tourbillion honestly was a miss with how they did it. My store got one in on launch and you felt it was just a Carrera they slapped the Senna name on

That explains it, I was searching high and low for it on the website. Glad you got a screen grab, did you notice the price? I assume it'll be priced similar to the Red Bull, which is really way more than I care to spend for a Cal 16 movement.

Thanks. I think the profile on that Seiko looks more slab sided compared to Senna's tennis watch. The notch on the lug might be some kind of artifact on the picture, but the profile shape of the case and lugs looks different to me. Here's another shot, not the best quality, but still gives an idea of the case shape.

Possibly,it does look different there compared to the second tennis shot as well though ! There is some motion blur on this one.
I'm really working from the second tennis shot as it's the most usuable.
Here are a couple of wrist shots but they don't take us much further.

I feel like it's an ana/digi, we can see hour/minute hands but no chrono subdials/hands and yet we have at least one pusher.
Something like a Zenith Time Command with a single pusher for an lcd date crossed my mind but there is nothing remotely close.
I've been through every conceivable Swiss ana/digi option for that time period (I think!)
I've also looked at the Japanese options,Seiko,Casio.Citizen, Alba, even Pulsar and still this Seiko is top of the pile.

Maybe we are on the wrong track and it's an analogue chrono with dark subdials and the hands just aren't showing up ?
I haven't written the Seiko off though,It's still the only one that has merited posting as a possibility..

The jury is still out for me on the Seiko. Its overall proportions don't look quite right to my eye compared to Senna's. The dial on Senna's wrist looks smaller relative to the case/bezel and the lugs appear longer. From the profile, Senna's watch has lugs that are sloped & angled more (similar to a Carrera's slope/angle), and the case body seems to have more contours.

Without finding a better shot of Senna's watch, it'll be hard to say with any certainty one way or the other.

I wouldn't argue with that, I'm no more than 45% confident in it being the Seiko. That said, nothing else in terms of ana digi layout has come as close.
I feel it's more angular than you do though I think. I'm basing that on the straight lugs and the need for a straight endpiece if it was on a bracelet. My inkling is something with an angular six or eight sided bezel and the flats lining up flush with that straight endpiece line. That's how it looks to me on the second shot where it looks like Senna is about to receive serve.

Definitely need better photo's but a quick search tends to suggest there is nothing higher res.

I've been looking to add Senna's Casio TS-1000 Thermometer watch from his 1984 F1 debut season with Toleman to my Senna collection. Finally acquired one that's in good condition at a price I was happy with. #NWA

Before writing my Senna article for @Jeff Stein's OnTheDash, I wanted to make sure that Senna's '84 watch was indeed the TS-1000, not one of the later Casio Thermometer models like the TS-1100J or TS-1200, which look similar. I found this photo below, which I edited with the side panel in blue to show the watch details compared Casio's stock photo. Although the watch is partially obscured by the photo credit, it's in high enough resolution to view the dial's finer details. Which confirmed what others had said, it is indeed the Casio 215 TS-1000.

Just an interesting thing of note: I posted about Senna and his Casio TS-1000 about 3 days ago on Instagram here. It has quickly become one of my most popular posts, gaining over 3.6K likes and 500K+ views in this short amount of time. Way way more than my typical posts on TAG Heuer or Senna x TAG Heuer.

I guess it just shows how popular Casio is with the public at large. 🤔

Wow, that's impressive !
I didn't realise they had such a following until I sold a ARW 320 with the altimeter a few years ago,I had something like 300 watchers on it.
It was a cool watch,wish i'd kept it !

Hi all, I am not sure if the question of the watch Ayrton was wearing whilst playing billiarts had already been solved, but I think this picture shows that it is his Seiko he is wearing. Apparantly, these pictures were taken at 1986 sponsor event at the Italian GP so I guess this must be the Seiko… @Mspeedster can you confirm 😊?

On a separate note: Mika Hakkinen was in my country last week and I managed to meet him. I got him to sign the Tag Heuer sponsored Porsche he drove in two races in 1993… does anyone have an overview of the watches he wore during his days as a McLaren driver?

Yes, I saw this Instagram post the other day. The caption said it was from Monza '86, indicating that it's most likely his Seiko A828 Speed Master worn from the '85 season until the middle of '87. It looks like the Seiko in this pic to my eyes.
