Hi there, should be superluminova considering period . I like the green colour that's light enough to be seen as white from a distance. Congrats for your new acquisition👍 (was it the one on C24?) 5600 is not a bad price considering it's demand today, although I remember days when some examples were sold around 3,5k in 2021/2023. I also had a 39 for years before realising the dial (33mm) was too big😲
No, oddly enough it had been listed on ebay and somehow it never popped up in my search for that model. It had been listed for three weeks too! I believe it was listed for 5950 buy it now. There’s one listed right now on Chrono24 that I almost purchased. The seller was willing to do 5800 but FL taxes and Canada to US import fees would have run me another 600, whereas the one I purchased on ebay was in TX.

Here’s the one I almost purchased from Canada. Seller was really nice. I felt bad I couldn’t get his but it was easier to purchase domestically. I don’t think this one will last long. There was another one priced in the same range that sold in the past two days.

Interesting, my experience wasn't quite the same. I offered a reasonable price and the response wasn't exactly accommodating, but that was more than a month ago, so maybe reality has set in. $7000 USD is way over-priced. In any case, I purchased mine last week from r/watchexchange for $4500 USD. No box or papers, but the watch had a full service from Omega in November (with receipts and service card). That seems like more of a fair price to me.

That’s an awesome deal! Do you need to be cautious about buying on Reddit? I inquired about this model on the FB Omega sales forum and was flooded with scammers.

I certainly would be. The moderators do police scammers, but all they can do is ban users from future transactions. There's no direct recourse if you are ripped off, so your only post-transaction protection is whatever is available through your payment method. All the standard advice about researching the seller as well as the product applies.

Having said that, I've purchased three watches from r/watchexchange and am completely satisfied with all of them.

The RM36 has a classic style that I think will remain popular for a long time.
You're right, in fact when you look at omega dials since the 50's they have always had dials with 9-6-3-12 indices and triangles in between...The aqua terra is a direct descendant of the seamaster's of the 50's and 60's...

$4500 is a bargain despite the missing box and papers, well played swooping in so quickly. I haven't been following prices for the past few months, but I was keeping a close eye on the market for a while and $5000 seemed to be the floor for a while there. Chrono24 has been inflating the valuations because of those few that are listed for $7k+ and then just sit there unsold. Ones listed at $5k or below sell very quickly.

The one I had referenced being sold by the Canadian on Chrono24 sold a few days ago. Good to see that they’re still moving.

On a separate note, has anyone swapped out the bracelet for a Forstner? Any particular models recommended?

Hi ! I wear mine on a vintage (omega) brown strap which I could more or less fix onto the deployant ....I recently bought a Uncle seiko 1171 which was not to bad and really in the style of the watch but decided to carry on with leather. A shame the OEM 1575/899 is separately so expensive

36 RM arrived today. Incredible watch. So glad I went with this size. Happened to see a 36 Rolex Explorer I while getting my bracelet adjusted and have to say, the RM definitely looks nicer.

I am so glad the 36RM still being appreciate. Mine is kept in the box only for special occasion due to my personal stories around it. When i was assigned in EU before pandemic, i met a friend in sweden which become my watch friend. The RM was his gift to his father bought new which worn not much but have been kept in the safe for 10 years or so. Since it is not used back in 2019 he sold that to me. I serviced it back then. He sold me watch and box except certificate which he cant find it. Pandemic come and i am return to my country, we still chat from time to time, and there is the moment when things get tough, and what i do is flipping rolexes and a tudor 58 for my grail 116520 and a speedmaster 3861 without spending more on watches for few years. In 2023, my sweden friend contacting me that he asked my address because he said he found the cert when cleaning his house. There when i found it that his life gone south, he get divorced and he has been diagnose with rare cancer with life expectation only a few months left. I am so sad, at that time i am still struggling myself and watch world is out of priority. Few months later when in try to contact him, i cant reach him anymore. During my struggling moment, seeing how the price gone up, it was too tempting to sell but i cant to do it. Its my last momento. Eventhough the cert never reach me but then it is not so important anymore….

I have read, but cannot confirm, that the Contemporary Flat Link bracelet for the FOIS mostly fits, but its end links aren't an exact match. I have further read of a couple of remedies:

1. Use the thicker Omega OEM spring bars instead of the thin ones that Forstner supplies. Supposedly that actually shifts the end link position enough.
2. Use the Uncle Straps end links (available separately) with the Forstner bracelet.

If either of those actually work, it suggests to me that the standard Forstner fit is pretty darn close, and only the truly obsessive would feel compelled to bother.

I tried the Explorer 36 on both before and after I bought my Railmaster 36. After owning the Railmaster, it struck me as interesting that the Explorer wears noticeably smaller. Not exactly sure why, but it does. I like aspects of both, but I have no plans to trade even though the 114270 is actually cheaper and the 124270 isn't a whole lot more.

That’s intense. I would never sell the watch based on that experience.

Hi everyone,

In my search / research on the Seamaster Railmaster 36.2mm, I found some brilliant info in this thread, so thanks for your knowledge.

So I've found an example in fair condition but not sure of its authenticity. Sorry for the blurry images attached but this was the best ones provided. I'd very much appreciate your thoughts on its authenticity. Do replicas of the 2504.52.00 / 2804.52.37 exist? Thanks

Hi! looks perfectly legit to me...
I have seen some fake on some websites but they really look like fakes...
As per the movement details (and all the rest) yours is 100% original imo
