Rumours of a new PO due this month

I was at a boutique last night with a friend who wanted to try out the 60th Bond. While at it, I happen to see someone trying orange and black bezel divers which looked like a PO from a few feet away and asked if these were the new PO's. Was told they are inviting a few high spending clients to come and try them on by invitation only. Managed to try on the orange PO.
Wasn't allowed to take a photo since it's a secret preview when I checked so ...

Orange bezel was underwhelming. First and second gen orange were striking while this one seems like a real orange that's starting to rot with a black hue. The shape at the lugs is completely new or something we haven't seen on Omega. No gloss on the dial. No date . No HEV. But a brilliant looking bracelet and clasp. Bracelet is flat link type with polished Center links. Felt comfortable. Didn't try the black but it looks way better than the orange bezel overall. Glossy bezel and all I think.
Thought I saw a blue bezel too. But wasn't sure.

It's still slightly thicker than the first gen but a whole lot wearable than the current PO range. The new bracelet and lug design has a shorter lug to lug. Saying all this by visual inspection. I sense this new PO clasp is going to be well received. Non HEV omega diver felt weird I must say but could get gotten used to.

On sale on the 18th November globally. Didn't ask the price cause I ain't buying this. Happy with the first gen.

Edit: and yes it's 42mm.

Forgot to add. It somewhat looks like smaller version the deep PO (the one that goes deepest) .

Ah yes. Left out that bit. It was a solid case back. Better than first gen in that department. None of that elaborate engraving that digs into the wrist.

Thx for description! Sounds dreadfully dull

I'd not say so yet. It definitely has potential. My take is that we are so used to seeing the what we been seeing for many years. Multiple releases and iterations of the same design. This might take a while to get used to. Am sure those who are new in the hobby or want a good diver will love it instantly. Especially when one can't get a submariner easily. Omega will surely hype this up making sure their supply is artificially slow.

I usually wait for a used and depreciated example when it comes by. 😬

Do they still have 600m ? Not that I will ever go there but it’s PO heritage
Any idea about the prices?

PCL's is a big miss. WTF?

Now that said, I can professionally brush out any bracelet I own, but still. The PO is supposed to be the more tool-like Seamaster.

So the Reddit leak a few weeks ago was the real thing.
The edges on the case and the edgy bracelet (hello Landdweller?) is something I need to get used to. Not love at first sight for me.

Very shiny, which I don’t mind. Just seems a bit much with all the hard angles and polishing. Reminds me a bit of GS cases.

I like the dials and bezels. The rubber strap seems odd, the textures on the 12 and 6 side of the strap look different from each other.

Promising overall IMO. Gotta check em out in person

The black on rubber could work. But need to see it in the flesh.

Wow. Looks absolutely crap. Really surprised.

How do Omega get it so wrong so often with their new watches. It wasn’t hard - keep the same general shape and profile as the current PO but make it thinner.

I think it looks great. I do not mind that they changed it up a bit, looking forward to see them in person

PCLs is a definite miss, but one that’s easily remedied. Good riddance to the He valve. This is a big improvement, in my view.

My first impression: I think that the bezel is too chunky and the dial is too small, with the consequence of a busy look under the crystal.

From random Reddit post.

First impressions:

A mishmash of a diver's and a dressier watch. But how many people really go diving with it??

No HEV. I was a complainer about the HEV but not seeing it is wierd. Still, it's time for it to go. If the deeper rated watches don't have HEV then it's silly on lower rated (although they still need to be thinner.)

Case is a straight lug with a little twist. Personally, I love the heritage of the straight lug speedys but straight lugs are boring compared to the twisted. The twisted lugs case is a perfect balance between tool and dress. So I kindof like this new case shape. Is it too much polish for a diver? Maybe, but again, most of us are desk divers.

The lug to lug length looks long, almost too long on this wrist shot. Doesn't look like it sits well on the wrist.

Orange color isn't captivating. Looks a bit bland. Probably needs to be seen in person.

Dial looks small. Probably due to the bezel width. Probably better for diving but as a design, slightly off. Maybe just need to get used to it as it's probably fine in person.

How will this compete with Seamasters now that the size is closer? Are they going after the same buyer?

One of the things I like about Omega is they make changes and introduce new design. Maybe it doesn't always work, but I appreciate that about them.

Overall, FWIW, don't know if I like it or dislike it.

Pretty interesting. No date though, correct? It might be unpopular, but I need a date on my watches. Even if they have the date function, I can't make any 42 mm fit my wrist no matter how hard I try.
