That would be awesome.

With your photoshop skills, would you be willing and able to mock up the blue bezel black dial one—with brushed center links?

Thanks in any case—I’m dying to visualize that configuration.
I suck with Photoshop, but here's my attempt:

All evidence to the contrary—thank you. I find this… validating.

I like it.

I bet it would work with polished outers as well.

Without the polish it becomes even more like a vanilla microbrand watch.

Nah, if I'd want to spend that kind of money on this look I would go for a Defy Skyline or a Defy diver instead. Feels like they achieve 'that look' much more effortlessly and without trying as hard as Omega with this PO.

Are the logo/indices and hands on the new model made of precious metals?
Or are they just rhodium-plated like SMP?

They usually use precious metals in their higher-end series.

The Defy has always reminded me of a giant monster eye. I like the yellow one but it's what I see every time I look at it.

I’d personally go for the orange 70s Revival model, but I already own an A384 Revival so would be too much overlap.

But the polished facets and chamfers look is something that’s in the Zenith DNA. On an Omega I’m looking for twisted lugs 😉

Yeah- I'm looking at the orange A3648 and it's pretty sweet.

Omega has tried a lot of things in their history and I am personally glad they tried this current Planet ocean. I definitely saw the connection to some of the 1970s omega divers pretty quickly but it's also pretty wildly different.

All design critique aside, I will say I like how they present the history of the inspiration, and the design progression of the PO line, when you select a variant online. The nod to the Baby Ploprof was a nice touch IMO as some of the final design language harkens back to that reference.

Somehow, despite the angularity of the new piece, it manages to look more like this than prior gens to me.

What I want to know is, why the orange bezel models are $300 more.

Because they know that's the one you really want.

Well, I did hear a rumor that the orange bezel uses liquid metal insert, but Ihink that's demonstrably false logic.

At these prices, it's really just about pricing demand. There is no reason that the black no date SMP should have been more than the standard date ceramic versions either.

Because the MKT dept. believe the market will pay that price.

At essentially the 10K mark, I don't think they're wrong
