Because I am receiving a lot of Teams and Outlook notifications during business day. And it is easier to raise my hand and check if it is important notification to read it - or I can ignore it.

BTW - if I don't see other watches having issues with notifications like not being able to scroll down (still suspicion if notifications are the cause) - and I have 4 different SmartWatches: Tissot, Samsung Ultra, Garmin Epix and Connected E5 - why would this watch have such a strange issue.

Really no need for comments like yours defending the brand - I have two TAGs, replaced E4 with E5. My question is simple and really there is no need to go into my habits to explain clearly bad functioninog
Oh I certainly am not defending TAG. I have been very vocal about my issues with the E3 through E5. I think the whole E5 and it's software is really just a cash grab as there are so many bugs and limited functionality. For 2000 dollars. A Chinese watch that's 2000 dollars which probably costs 150$ to make. I still wear it though as the faces are very well done and the build quality is good.

What I am trying to say is that having 50 plus notifications is probably a very rare issue to have as most people would take that type of load on their phones and/or clear them as they come in. My OCD would drive me crazy as I dismiss notifications as they come in and probably have 50 to 100 notifications a day. Also you can't expect the same UI smoothness as the big players. The problem you have is down to the software which may or may not get better

Sorry for misunderstanding and thanks for your kind words.
I am not against stuff made in China- everything today is made in China as they have higher volume, (therefore) cheaper and better production. I am happy with E5 functions - it finally feels like a watch. And UI is fast - faster than my Samsung Ultra (which helps with that traditional watch feeling. Was it rushed - apparently so.
Notifications are sorted nicely so i should not care if there are 50, 500 or 5,000 notifications - i care only about recent ones. And there is a potential for E5 to be great.
I will try with cleaning up notifications on a daily basis to see if it helps.
Thans again.

Battery and connection

E5 Connected not the best by far. Having to charge nearly every day. Disconnects from App numerous times a day, the vibrations from such probably being the reason for low battery. Where’s my cheap but very efficient Fitbit

Also when I go to watch settings none of the arrows are working.

Is it possible to use this watch just as a watch and turn of everything else to safe energy? Leaving the dial always on?

Updated list

No weather forecast past 12 hours

Low volume on voice assistant and the whole process does not work well

Companion app on Android is behind that of Apple

Notifications getting stuck randomly requiring restart of watch

Can't import/export non workout health data to health connect on Android.

Calendar settings are not existent

Screen not bright enough outside and too bright in a dark room

No voice reply to text messages
Apple iPhone user here.
I have had a Garmin and an AWU for a VERY long time. I chose TH for the "Step Up" in quality. I have mixed feelings about the purchase, but I am giving it some time.

I agree that the brightness outside is low. It is very hard to read in direct sunlight. Also agree, the brightness at night is very bright and does not dim to a comfortable level. This will be a give-and-take when it comes to battery life, I am sure.

I hope that when sleep tracking is rolled out, it will include an automatic bedtime switch so the user does not have to go in and put the watch into sleep mode. This would also aid in proper sleep tracking (Similar to other smart watches).

Also looking forward to text reply over the watch instead of having to respond on the phone.

Screen timeout should offer a choice between long and short. Currently, the screen will time out while reading a message.

I understand that this is the first generation of the TH operating system, but this has been very buggy. Slow response to screen touch and swipe. When a face is chosen and you change the complications, if you restart or switch faces, your previously added complications change to the stock face.

On the plus side, the look, feel, and quality of the build are surprisingly good. The music sounds much better than other brands'. I'm yet to take a call over the watch, but I am hopeful that it will be a pleasurable experience as well.

The screen resolution is very nice. I am conflicted on the font size or thickness when a message is displayed. It may be easier to read with a very slight thickness added. It's hard to say without testing. Currently, I cannot read the messages in direct sunlight.

The faces are very nice. The detail is fabulous. Even the tachometer hand response and smoothness are impressive!

I am looking forward to seeing how this evolves over time. I believe professionals will do a great job, and we will be continually impressed by every update as we move forward. Great job, guys!

What does that mean? You can’t play music on the watch AFAIK (it’s not a BT output device).

Afternoon,
I'm sorry, I am not sure if this is a statement or a question.
I can connect to my music player, and it is broadcasting through my watch and its speaker. Are you saying that you are not able to, or that it shouldn't be able to?
When I switched off my Meta glasses, the media controls remained on the watch face, and it continued playing music through the watch speaker. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, watch connected to iPhone Music player to control the tracks playing on the phone (fwd/back/colume). But the iPhone cannot connect to the watch speaker. How/where are you picking the watch speaker as the audio output? I can only output phone audio to my phone speaker and other connected speakers, but not the watch.

I went through the process to connect normally, but it didn't. I am assuming that because it was connected to the Meta glasses, it acted as a phone speaker, but then transitioned to the watch, thinking it was the phone? Have no idea. A fluke, I am sure.

Constant heart rate monitoring vs. continious heart rate monitoring -> seems this is a reason for the battery lasting below expectations. From what I've monitored, my watch continously monitors heart rate over the day. Whenever I lift my watch, I see the green LED. This is completely unnecessary since the amount of data will not result in anything other than using more battery. While not in training mode, an Apple Watch measures heart rate at a very limited rate while changing to continously monitoring during an excercise. Changing this alone should increase battery significantly as well as also using location from the attached phone and not the built in GPS.

Disagree. Just because Apple does it doesn't mean it's the best way. Galaxy watches and Garmin track all day by default. I get nearly 48 hours from my E5 which id say is quite good

They need to add a watch face delete confirmation to the watch screen. It’s so easy to accidentally delete a face when swiping thru the preset faces you have on the watch. I’ve had this happen so many times, drives me crazy.

Same applies to your argument.

Nearly 48 hours is only possible with very light use. And remember - this is a brand new battery. Later on we’ll be happy about any battery saving feature.

Latest updated on the watch not solving the topic of mobile app disconnecting, while bt still connected.
Same problem for me and it seems many, many others. I am having to factory reset and reconnect my e5 to my phone every day and I lose my health data in the app when I do so. I have not had this issue with other smart watches. Tag need to fix the software asap.
I have an iPhone 14 and up to date iOS. Come on Tag - you’re supposed to be a premium brand and this is simply not acceptable.

I’ve not had to reset, but I have found it does take longer some days than others for them to connect (as in power off my devices at night). I just let it be, and they eventually connect (maybe an hour at worst)..

Latest reply from Tag regarding notification sounds/vibration bug...

"Regrettably, we are yet to receive confirmation as to when the update will be pushed out to users experiencing difficulty with their notifications. We have been advised that the issue is being treated as an urgent priority and will be rolled out to users as soon as possible."

Tells us nothing really, could bee days, weeks, months!
Not good enough really is it 🙁

This is the reply I received last week…

“Please advise that you've received update 5.4.0 for the E5 device, as well as Watch-faces V.5.6.1, as they were released last week.

On your watch open Setting>About> Updates and confirm you received the update.“

I have OS 5.3.1 and faces 5.6.2 on my watch, so not sure about this 5.4.0 they’re referring to.
