I’m having the same problem. Disconnecting from app throughout the day. Not impressed with my new E5. Yes it looks good, but tbh I’m not bothered about what’s inside (hardware) I want a good interactive watch. Had Fitbits for years that offer so much more. Doesn’t even monitor sleep and the answer to most problems is put it on the charger overnight. I want to wear my watch for bed, I want it to monitor my sleep and heart overnight and I want it to update quickly. I wake up turn off sleep mode and it shows the incorrect time for about a minute or until I pick my phone up and click on the app. The app is very limited to say the least. Why don’t these app builders add icons for updates or syncing, I’m just staring for some sort of indication that the watch has synched.
Latest updated on the watch not solving the topic of mobile app disconnecting, while bt still connected.

Since I didn't have an E4 - was this a problem on previous generations too? I'm still within my 2 weeks return window and if this is not fixable via software, I might return it. I've been to the Mediterranean last weekend and as mentioned before, it was nearly impossible to tell the time. Other than this, I really like it.
Brightness is not a real problem on E4. Allthough on a clear summerday at the beach putting your hand togive some shadow to the screen makes it easier to read,,,

After few updates, several global reset, my E5 with Iphone 16pro with Ios26.0.1, stll have following mobile app behavior.

The problem looks like more connected to mobile app reconnecting process, while BT with iphone works properly.

Mobile app disconnecting all time watch is far away from phone, and when they come together, watch and phone reconnect and watch gets notification while mobile app still disconnected. Only killing mobile app and booting up again will make mobile app to reconnect.

Do you experience same situation?

App seems to always reconnect without issue. I’ve started to power off the watch at night. And it reconnects to the app no problem each morning when powered up, reloads the correct face, colors, complications. iOS 26.0.1 as well.

When the watch is restarted the watch face changes its colour and complications and saves that to the current watch face saved in the all. So you need to reset all the colours and add the complications and re add it to the watch app saved list.

Bug, sunrise/sunset complication just sits loading forever (…), unless the weather complication is displayed. I swapped out step complication, for current weather, and sunrise/sunset appears. Put step back in, sunrise/sunset goes back to (…). WTF Tag?!?

The irony is, they show this face in the Connected App, showing sunrise/sunset with no weather complication.. that combination just doesn’t work.

UPDATE: today sunrise/sunset complication works (without requiring the weather widget). Maybe they fixed something on backend, maybe was a service outage yesterday (unlikely). But anyways, today it’s not dependent on weather complication being visible. 🤷‍♂️

UPDATE 2: added a different face, issue resurfaced. Sunset/rise working on one face, but not the other. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Ok, I have the following issue, would appreciate if somebody can suggest if this is watch or software issue: watch is working great, but I am getting a lot of notifications (which is ok, that is one of the reasons why I get this watch). But every 4-5 days scrolling down on the screen (by pulling finger up from the bottom of the screen) becomes sluggish to the level I start thinking it doesn't work. The issue is resolved as soon as I restart the watch - everything is working great. But then again I see the same issue after 4-5 days.
It is not related to watchface. To check if it is related to notifications, I would have to turn off notifications - but that defeats the purpose (for me, at least).
I would like to know if anybody else noticed similar issue - or this might be require warranty activation?
Thanks!

Are you clearing the old notifications?

Not really. But I would expect watch to clear old notifications after some time (24h for example)? It doesn't do that - but I think it would be useful.

Thanks,

Implementing notification retention time if watch memory is limited.

Not really. Phones don’t remove/clear them either, you need to explicitly clear them. Otherwise people may miss one, and then they’d really be complaining. I don’t find using the big Dismiss All button at the bottom to be a burden.

Your watch notifications don't clear if you clear them on the phone?

I limited number of apps sending notifications and we will see if that helps. I still don't think too many notifications should impact scrolling down - but on the other hand, it is clearly software issue as it is resolved when I restart the watch.

How many is too many that it affects scrolling. I have about 24-30 without any impact.

Oh, much more than that related to total number of notifications (from all apps). Currently there are 50+ notifications (currently no issues as I restarted watch an hour ago). But I am guessing there are probably 100s of notifications what that happens.

Clear all seems MUCH easier than restart. LOL.

Don’t think it’s a software issue, that will be resolved with an update. It’s a device with limited cpu/memory capacity.

Didn't have similar issue with E4 (although it did restart sometimes - possible for the same reason) or with Samsung Ultra. But I am glad (in a way) nobody is suggesting this might be h/w issue that requires warranty.

I'm confused why someone would have so many pending notifications on the watch. If you have over 50 at any given time it would probably be best to use the phone anyway to read and clear

Because I am receiving a lot of Teams and Outlook notifications during business day. And it is easier to raise my hand and check if it is important notification to read it - or I can ignore it.

BTW - if I don't see other watches having issues with notifications like not being able to scroll down (still suspicion if notifications are the cause) - and I have 4 different SmartWatches: Tissot, Samsung Ultra, Garmin Epix and Connected E5 - why would this watch have such a strange issue.

Really no need for comments like yours defending the brand - I have two TAGs, replaced E4 with E5. My question is simple and really there is no need to go into my habits to explain clearly bad functioning.
