same same - one of many checkpoints at crown-guards
Sorry i do not understand what you mean. I point out the OP that his sub probably isn't unpolished after he said it was. You refer me to post 3 which doesn't comment on the watch in question as far as i can tell.

Do you or don't you agree it is polished?

I guess you are right.
In the mean time, i don’t know it in this period they where perfectly symmetric when brand new.
But once again, you are probably right, there is some other sign of light polish

Don't get me wrong, it looks great. Unpolished subs from that era are pretty rare anyway.

I also have a 1680 by the way and i decided to give it light polish when i got it because it wasn't unpolished and hardly had any brush on it anymore. Never regretted it

I like to use tropical watch, there may be a bit higher price, but I trust what I’m getting and then I don’t have to think about it when it’s on my wrist.

Oven baked dials, manipulated tritium and bleached bezels are not a thing you mean?

Oh, yeah.. definitely not my thing. Haha.

It’s really hard to find legit 16800 and 1680 matte.

I think prices have been dropping a bit on eBay lately.

Yes, patina and tropical commands a higher price usually. So some people try to manipulate that.
