New Monaco for Monaco Grand Prix?

The last couple of years, Tag Heuer came out with a new Monaco around the time of the Monaco Grand Prix. With them taking over official F1 time duties from Rolex this year, it sure seems like they might come out with a special Monaco for the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix. Any thoughts?

Unless something changes, there should be one releasing for this year as well. If you want one, put a deposit with your TAG Heuer boutique.

A reminder for others: please don't post pictures or renders of unreleased watches.

I have seen the next two that are likely to be released this year. I just I’m uncertain if they’re going to be released around the Grand Prix or not. Given the designs of them I don’t think so but we will see

Some TH Boutiques have started pre-sales orders/deposits for these two, expected to be released around the Monaco GP weekend. (Although I've also heard conflicting reports that one might be in June, possibly around Le Mans.)

I've seen both in the metal and they are stunning!!! IMHO, perhaps the best Monaco releases in the last 3-4 years and then some.

Unfortunately, the prices for Titanium Monacos have become so inflated, it's very hard for me to justify a purchase. But my want for the new Gulf is real!!!

I really want the Monaco GP LE, looks fantastic in the shots from W&W, sadly can’t justify the price currently. Be interesting to see how quick they sell out, the seafarer was still available when I flew through Geneva last month (I think, airports are kinda blurring together at this point), so maybe I’ll be able to pick one up in a years time at a discount…or maybe this will be joining the carrera RS on my list of ones that got away.

Yeah, at nearly $10K and over 900 pieces, I think they will be available for a while. Although it seems TH is drumming up the FOMO by only releasing a lower numbered batch at initial release on both of these.

I thought the black one, inspired by a stopwatch, looked nice in that leaked W&W pic (now deleted), but not $10K kind of nice. Seeing it in person put it on an entirely different level, I was very impressed. I would certainly pic that over the Carrera x 911 Monte Carlo Rallye released back in Jan.

However, the new white dial panda Gulf Racing model is my top pick. It pushes all my buttons, but then I've always been crazy for Gulf. 🤪

I haven't received any final release dates for these two. I have to believe the leaked one will be the Monaco GP LE. The other, possibly to be released around Le Mans, although they won't be able to reference it, due to exclusivity rights with the Crown's sponsorship of the race.

Whatever the case, it seems many Boutiques have received both to show customers in order to drive pre-sales orders. Seems odd for the Gulf to be shown in Boutiques now, if indeed it's a month away, but could be.

So we'll see if they all get presold.

White strap is different...
Supposedly made from the same type of material as Steve McQueen's racing suit. Also included is the blue leather rally strap with orange stitching that came on the CAW211R Gulf. But who'd wear the blue one when the white cloth racing suit strap is a key feature of the watch!?

Spoke to the ‘TH’ specialist in a shop yesterday, she would neither confirm or deny any new watches, “ I ve signed a secrecy agreement” wasnae happy when I suggested she was no help then? She then did suggest there would be a new watch limited to 10 watches but at a considerable price and another, still at limited availability but around £10/15k, but weren’t expecting any stock to their branch.
I’ll probably just sticking cash away for a nice perpetual calendar from another marque.

Not entirely accurate. I was on a call yesterday afternoon about the upcoming Monaco’s for the GP. There are a few limited ones which all will be numbered

I went to see these two again and have changed my mind. I'm now leaning towards the black one, inspired from a 1970 Heuer stopwatch. It's just so cool and unique, and I already have a Monaco Gulf.

Too bad they're so expensive, $10K is just too much for me to spend on either of them.

They’re gonna be numbered each of them so I’m guessing that helped factor the price point too 😭

Strange. The ones I saw were not numbered. It had “One of 970” for the 1970 Stopwatch and “One of 971” for the Gulf, eluding to the movie’s release year of 1971.

The Gulf looks great, but they seem to be leaning into the movie a bit much.
