A very cool complication and presentation of information.

Studying the dial, the little “sun” is merely a fixed/slave 24hr hand, as found on early explorers, etc. - it simply rotates the dial once a day and always displaying the same time as the central hour hand (except in 24hr format).

It’s the background behind the sun hand, the light/night discs that alternate depending on the day of the year (e.g., in the summer the night disk getting smaller, and pushing back toward later in the evening).

Something the article didn’t touch on but comes to mind: i assume this complication cannot account for daylight savings “movements” of clock time.

Had the privilege of meeting the man who makes those watches back in 2018. Absolutely amazing in the flesh.
Oh you got closer nice. In my case my neighbor (very successful guy has an industrial roofing business and I lost track of how many other businesses he has but extremely successful something I know nothing about) had a friend over from NYC who apparently is one of his suppliers. My neighbor knows I’m a watch collector I actually linked him with a guy who had a Rolex Sky Dweller (I think that’s what is was) for sale. He told me to stop by when I saw a Tesla plaid in his driveway.

So anyway his friend or business associate was wearing one of these. I gotta be honest I had never heard of the brand prior but you could just tell it was beyond the beyond. He did offer me to check it out and wear it but we were standing on asphalt and I just ran this horror scene of me dropping it. If we were in grass I might have gone for it as I would have loved a wrist shot I think I was just a little overwhelmed with the plaid and the watch and felt out of my element. So I punked out wouldn’t touch the watch. Every year we have like a small neighborhood party and they always talk me into having a few drinks which I only do a couple times a year he said he would be coming so maybe in the spring I’ll try again. Shoot sorry that was a long babble, I should have just said I punked out and left it at that.

That's a good plan after a few drinks you won't care too much about dropping it.

Jump in the Plaid and take off, he'll never catch you.

Off topic now but he took the three of us out in that thing. I’m not a crazy car guy but Teslas fascinate me. When I was younger me and my friends did a lot with the old US muscle cars and I had a pretty quick big block chevelle but I have never felt acceleration like I did when he jumped on that Tesla. First time I’ve been in one. I just can’t imagine going faster than that off the line, unless I get a ride in a rocket but like I said I’m not very knowledgeable with cars in that category but it’s something I won’t soon forget. I guess I can’t run with the big dogs but I can hang out with them now and again.

I’m mad as well I’m sure if I payed attention in school I’d have at least three of them now.

but 600k

first watch ever to be able to display sunrise and sunset at any location on the planet (after inputting month, date, latitude and longitude)

Any other sunrise/set watches are purpose-built for a specific latitude/longitude

pretty amazing feat

Oh I agree I’m just mad I can’t get one I think I am going to start a watch equity movement as it is clearly not fair only the 1% or whatever can have these I think they should be equally distributed amongst the population I may have to start with an “occupy Rolex AD” and work my way up but assuredly I say unto you it is my goal to see every man woman and child have a Krayon and live in harmony

And if I had payed enough attention at school I 'd never made such an horrible grammar mistake (by distraction, this is my only excuse. What a shame!😵‍💫😲...)

“Lets start a lux, independent watch brand, with unique complications! “ “Wow! Great!” “ Lets give it a name that sounds like child’s toy! “ “ummmmmm.”
