TAG actually did engrave M and C on some case-backs. The first execution of the S/EL Ana-Digi models had them as part of their reference numbers.

However, they stopped using M or C on the case-backs with the next revision. As it obviously provided greater freedom with the bracelet/strap option by not having the M/C suffix engraved.
