I want a speedy

As the title says; I want a speedy. Thing is I don't know which one. These are my thoughts; I want a nice looking watch I don't want to spend a lot, especially at this time. I have seen watches in the 1000 + or - range, is that a realistic number for what I want? I wear a watch for a few days in my rotations so I don't mind winding the watch. Doesn't make any difference whether it be manual or automatic. I want to purchase or trade for a good quality watch I don't want a basket case
So the questions are what should I look for, about how much should I spend and anything I should steer clear of?

THANKS

The mid 70's through early 80's caliber 861 versions can be had around $1500 or so. I think the same period automatics based on Lemania movements are around the same prices too. Best bet is to ask the Google for Speedmaster images, find a few you like, and post them here. If you don't know which model we'll identify them and comment.

That is one that i would like to get one day, but the only reason i haven't got one is because I am not too fond of the manual winding, so for me it has to be automatic. The moon watch is a manual wind, if i remember of about 42mm case, while the autos are 40mm.

I think I would actually prefer the moon watch

If you want the Moon Watch I'd double the 1000 you were thinking of spending.

Depends on the model, 70s/80s ones can be had much lower, I've seen a reasonable one from the 80s for 1200, but that was a bit of a bargain.

I have wanted one for a long time, frankly I have accumulated too many watches, so I was thinking of selling a few to finance this one... Thing is I have time to shop. Just that there are so many models

I know what you mean, the two I come down to are bog standard 3570.50 and the 3572.50 (hesalite front, sapphire back), then I remember that I still don't have a Cal 321. I can't believe I still don't have a Speedmaster at all after nearly half a dozen Omegas and talking about 10 people into BUYING the damned things lol

The problem I have is there are so many nice watches out there, I see one and gotta have it, I might have to start wearing 3 or 4 at a time to justify having so many😀

The 3570.50 is on my list too... unless the ones from the 70/80s are of the same size, in which case I'd gladly go for those, considering the price difference.

They are the same size, main difference is the bracelets, and many prefer the older bracelets anyway

Johnson do you have any affiliation with those guys, youve posted links to their site on several watch websites and in some cases multiple times on the same forums... Because some people are happy with a seller, they don't take it upon themselves to head up that sellers marketing department.

Nvm, Johnson decided to spam his stupid company a second time in a second thread, and had an IP from India while pretending to be from London, hence his ass is now gone.

Hey, this is the same guy who spammed on my blog too. I think I may have inadvertently lead him to this forum 🙁
