Here's my original Monochrom and Nocti 0.95. The first lens I got had a tiny bubble and they were happy to exchange it for me.

Nice set up!
In the 30鈥檚 and 40鈥檚 bubbles were signs of high quality glass!

Yeah, I was told that, and the only reason I asked the dealer about a replacement was just in case I decided to sell it and a potential buyer objected. That Nocti is a heavy lens for its small size.

I have too much gear, way too little time...

Last 2 shots with a M8, Visoflex III and God only knows what glass (90 lux, nikon macro, ...) 馃え

The M4 is loaded at the moment. My M8 is not used much anymore, I got back to film.

Nice, but I suggest giving it regular exercise even without a film. My IIIf would get very cranky if it hadn't been used for some months and underexposed the first half of any roll of film. I eventually sold because it just was not getting enough use.

I recently entered in the Leica world in my own way, with an M5 that hase been fully restored. Here you can see it with my Canon 50mm F1.2 馃榿馃榿

Okay this is the prettiest camera I have seen/

I spent about way too many hours last night researching Leica. I really want one, but as one poster mentioned, it鈥檚 the price of a Rolex. Would I sell a Rolex or give up a new Rolex (yet to be purchased) for a Leica? I dont know...

So, here's a long shot... does anyone have any R-series glass they'd part with or know the right person to talk to? Specifically interested in the Elmarit-R 19mm or perhaps 28mm for some video work. Seems like nobody is using the 24 for some reason. 馃榾

Not letting my R lenses go. 馃榿
Also do not have the wide angle lense you are looking for.
I would look at KEH, Bergen County, B&H or adorama.
Igor鈥檚 might have some too.

Best

Cheers. Yeah, starting to look abroad since the selection in Australia tends to be limited and/or very overpriced for lenses that can be in poor shape.

The R's look great for video. 19mm ends up around 30mm on Super35 sensors (with UHD crop).

I spent over a year hand picking a set of the best R lenses I could find...
my .02 - The best lenses are the last series manufactured in each focal length, but my most used were the 35mm and 50mm Summilux f1.4. Both were the 2nd series very late manufacture. I never liked the 24 or 28mm and I rarely used the 19mm...but it was also the later version.

I found this wiki invaluable in building my set:

I generally like the Summicrons better than the Summiluxes.

I'm pretty late to the party. I didn't know the R glass looked so good in video. 馃槈 It reminds of of some sort of mix between Canon Cine and Cooke, but with more flaring. People look great with the R stuff.

Just got mine last week.
It鈥檚 my first digital Leica and I need some time getting used to it. The diopter at -0.5 is HORRIBLE. I dont wear glasses and its way off focused. I guess I need to spend $160 on a correct diopter.
