How do people rate JLC?

Had it... and sold it...

Meteorite dial was def a turn on, coupled with the proportionate case size and displays but somehow this master calendar just didn't stick around long.
I think the meteorite dial works best in RG.

Perhaps you're right, I recall the RG variant had a darker hue meteorite dial?

Yeah, that one and mine!

My favorite watch of all time is @SpikiSpikester 's JLC triple date....hard to say for an Omega fanboy.
Can't find the photo, so time to get the old boy out of bed to share it with us!
Whaddayasay, Warren !!

Sorry for the delay Jim, I will have to retrieve it & post it up this afternoon.

In the meantime, in answer to the OP I'd say I got turned into a huge fan of modern JLC's. Having started off as a strictly Omega vintage collector, I tried hard, and failed, to find anything in the modern Omega lines I was happy to buy as a regular wearer. The Seamasters were all too big & tall for my tastes (and shirt sleeves) and the modern Speedies couldn't compete with the late 60's iterations (in my eyes anyway) - and until the Globemaster came out there wasn't anything hitting my sweet spot - but by then it was too late. Once I saw the JLC Master Control UT Moon and the modern Reverso's and it was all over !

As a reliable and classy modern watch, I think JLC keep delivering to a really great level - especially for the price point.

Also, most people don't notice them in daily life. It's nice to walk around an office with an under the radar watch when every other bugger seems to have either a Rolex or Apple watch 😁

I am heading the same way, I think.

The Triple is a great watch. Understated, beautifully finished.

...and here are the pics. This is the first iteration of the Master Moon, the current ones have better legibility on the date ring and a redesign of the way the rotor looks.

Deep swiss heritage and the best value for money at the higher end. They made the movements for the big 3. Understated designs. My two…
Beautiful watches…. And apologies for the newbie question but who is «the big three »? Patek, Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin? Weren’t they making their own movements and if not how would they have earned their place as “big three” ? 📖

Yup and they used JLC for some, not all their movements. So I have read.

I rate them high. Both vintage and new. A classy choice and without a lot of attitude surrounding the brand.

There will be a Reverso in my collection eventually. For the time being this will have to do...

Awesome Dial on this one!
What is the model name?
Is it vintage, 1960's?
Thanks

Nothing wrong with that.
Then that is the nicest Memovox dial I've seen!

They are a well-proportioned watch. When I am trawling through C24 I very often find myself clicking on them.

I certainly would not turn away a watch like this if it showed up in my drawer 😀

i like it, I almost bought a second reverso an ultra thin. However, I deliberated too long and was waiting for the christmas bonus to come and it sold last week. In the long run, i might purchase a JLC perpetual calendar. Its more one of those companies for the serious collectors, to me.

That is because it has a dial the size of the moon!
Ha!! It may be big but my eyes are not getting any younger. It goes with a dinner jacket and it brings a smile to my inner kid.
For the upcoming week this is a favourite when I am on video meetings with Rome and Bombay.

Out of interest, how often do you wear a DJ? I ask because I am thinking of getting one "just in case". but it was LONG time since I wore one.
