I just ask about that watch if is fake or not ,what i do wrong lol ...

You didn’t do anything wrong. The problem is more about the way you asked.

As you may have seen by looking at the dial of the watch and the mechanism, there are a lot of parts and details for each watch. There can also be many variations of each watch as they change over years. To make a determination whether a watch is real and assess the value may not always be an easy or quick task. If it’s obviously fake or a terrible example, that is easy. Because of that, when people are going to spend time analyzing the pictures and give you feedback, a lot prefer to get some details about you, the purpose of your question, and what if anything you researched yourself.

Let people know if you are the owner. Do you want to know if it’s real because you’re looking to buy it? Or sell it? Are you looking to find value for purchase or to insure it? Stuff like that.

Also, have you googled or searched on the forum here for the same watch, what did you find? Anything that sticks out to you as a potential issue?

If you answer some of those questions, I bet you’ll get some more responses.

Also, I would post the pictures back up. The thread has more eyes now, so if the pics are back, some people may be willing to chime in.

well if you're going to take it upon yourself to declare that his forum is not for verification or appraisal, and imply "discuss" doesn't cover those fields then the implication is there are rules being broken. if not then wouldn't it be a better idea to ignore newcomers if you don't approve of their discussion style and let others answer their questions?

Forgive me, but it is kind of incongruous reading this which was posted after the original OP has asked another question in this thread. You lectured others about being nice to OP, but conspicuously ignored the opportunity to be nice to OP yourself.

I not trying to be mean, but it sticks out a bit. Particularly since you pull people up quite a bit on this issue. You did it to me in another thread.

and what opportunity would I have had to attend to the OP's request when he got scolded and withdrew-edited his post? all I read was "ok" in his post.

well I didn't see the pictures but perhaps since you have you could now be the first to answer the op's initial verification request and give your opinion on the watch? what did you think? real or fake?

I don't quite get your line of thought. isn't it abundantly obvious by my posted replies in defense of the OP that I feel he did nothing wrong?

You're being obtuse I feel. You know exactly what the debate is, and what rubs people up the wrong way in a "newbies" first post. I can think of three threads off-hand that you are involved in on this topic. So you were in a better position than most to address OP's question of what he did "wrong". Indeed you didn't even offer reassurance that he did nothing "wrong". You have not helped, addressed, or even acknowledged him yet, but you are lecturing others as to how he should be treated. Like I say, it is not a good look.

I could never understand why some (or is it most?) members here, both long term contributors and those who have a couple of hundred posts and think they have got their feet under the table, are so reluctant to pass on their knowledge to new members.
To me, the saddest aspect of this forum is all the "And what has your research taught you?" replies to new members questions.
If you can't be bothered to help, then don't bother replying.

Here is a tip for "newbies" reading this. Post pics of your watch and declare it beautiful, authentic, Buzz Aldrin's lost-on-the-moon Speedy, and previously John Harrison's daily beater.

Comments on it's actual provenance and value will come in then thick and fast. Why? Because Cunningham's Law states "the best way to get the right answer on the internet is not to ask a question; it's to post the wrong answer."
