Interesting timing. I've had mine a couple of years, and all has been fine - except that I went for a swim, got out the pool and the bezel had fallen off almost identically. Took it back to the TH store in London (where I purchased from initially) who confirmed that the casing was just showing wear and tear and they would get it off to the service dept.

So, some pretty awful behaviour from Tag service department. Despite the shop inspection confirming that all I had was wear and tear, they initially tried to fob me off with saying their was evidence of a significant impact that caused the detacthment. They even described what they claimed to be seeing, although wouldn;t provide photographic evidence. I rejected that and asked them to try again - they re-iterated, but then also said that as I was outside warranty that it wouldn't be covered anyway.

I hap to push back a third time (including pointing out that it would fail the reasonable expectation of UK consumer rights law to say that the watch face should pop off after 2.5 years and not be covered) before a supervisor finally came back to me, re-iterated the claim that I had damaged the watch, but that as gesture of "goodwill" they would replace the watch anyway.

Too be honest, not a lot of goodwill left after that miserable exchange, and I'm left very much doubting that I will invest in an E5 if/when it comes out

Sorry mate, but that watch looks like you've mishandled it, either that or it's a fake. The strap's all scratched up and the crown is unrecognizable. I've had mine for almost a year, and it's been banged about a bit, but still looks pristine and in one piece.
Send it to Tag Heuer service dept - if you dare - and they'll sort it out.
They honoured the warranty and replace the whole watch head and it isn’t fake coz it was bought from Tag Heuer boutique in Australia. I work in railways and wear this watch everyday at work hence the scratches and they have given 2 years warranty on new head.

My connected E4 doesn't boot up. Anyone can help!

Does it buzz when you place it on the charger? Sometimes mine didn't and wiggling it around a bit on the charger would help. Cleaning the contacts on the charger and the watch with isopropyl alcohol once a while helped too. If it buzzes when placed and still won't charge it might be as dead as mine is and if under warranty still you should have them check it out: https://www.tagheuer.com/contact/

I’m sure many will disagree with me but I’m pretty happy with my E4 black titanium 45mm. I’m clumsy AF and there’s not a scratch on it. I wear it 23/7 and try to avoid getting it wet, but I’ve banged into concrete pillars and caught it against door latches several times and there’s not a mark on it.
My Monaco however is so easy to damage - that stupid Perspex ‘glass’…. I’ve had it replaced at least 4 times over the last 25 years.

Sensor cover seal went on mine & it never got wet, cover came off.Just general use. I took it off in less than a minute after noticing the cover off, sensors died. Seal was just some cheap glued junk. Apparently good to 50m, though.

Maybe the factory that makes them have been cutting corners with build standards since the first few batches came out?

Maybe.

I bought the watch 18 mths ago, first one they sent me was DOA/wouldn't boot. This is the 2nd. At least they're fixing it under warranty ;-)

Can anyone recommend an online store for straps for the 42mm E4? I’m struggling to find any apart from the offical ones where the choice isn’t extensive but the price is. Thanks.

This is my second Tag Heur Connected E4 45mm watch. Have had this one for 2 years.

Of late, notifications to my watch have stopped. For debugging, I have reset the watch once, change all notification options to push notifications to phone but still do not get any notifications. I do get phone or whatsapp call notifications but no other notifications.

Similar thing happened 2 months back, but in a week or two before it started bothering me, it got fixed by itself. Any ideas for debugging would be highly appreciated.

Hi community,

most of us were curious about the new E5 and it's OS. Especially Android users. Now as E5 has been release with its own OS, there might be some disappointment and fear for the future of E4. Will this beautiful watch get updates in the future or do we stuck on Security Patch of 1st April 2024. Which becomes more and more a threat and one day most of third party applications might not work anymore.

Well maybe there is a silver streak on the horizon. As you might know E5 runs ASOP. Android Open Source Operating System. Basically this is still WearOS just wothout all the (nice) Google stuff like Google Play, Keep, Maps...
This could mean that TH has a strategy. I'm not a pro but in my point of view this means that APPs developed for E5 might run on E4. Depending on hardware requirements. SO to speak that we have a chance to get some of the new APPs and the watchfaces on E4 without need to be developed for E4.

Maybe some TH guys could comment my thoughts
