Mission cleared

Good info to have! I've looked at (photos) quite a few of these Rainbow Flybacks over time. The vast majority are 02, a couple or three 01, but this is the first 01/02 I've seen.

I wonder how many of these Rainbow flybacks were produced? I have not seen a credible number published anywhere.

One of the nicest modern Zeniths. Glad you have made clear your doubts regarding your watch. Enjoy!

My flyback came new with bracelet and the black leather band with red stitching as in the image earlier. And it is still that way. I will check the bracelet, but think it is correct. Great long term hold piece as I think the flyback feature is special. Good luck

What's the reference number on yours? Also 01/02?

Such a nice model! Had the regular Rainbow on both SS/18K (2 models) and SS ( model), now hunting for a nice and reasonable priced color flyback 馃槈

As far as I know, they came with leather strap (01) or bracelet (02). I've never seen one with both 01/02 inscribed, but there is not a lot of info out there on these. Sala mentions only these two versions on the colored version, and a quick perusal of the new Duval book didn't shed any new light. Perhaps a service back, interchangeable to both references? BTW, Priek makes a display back for these that is quite nice.

Never seen a bracelet like that either, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Some months ago I did inquire to Zenith and a couple of authorized repair shops about a replacement bezel (I subsequently found an example that didn't need it) and was advised by all that these were no longer available.

This reference is one of my favorites and was my first Zenith, enjoy yours!

Oh heck, I scraperd out an 18k Zenith buckle!
Could not find the symbool on the rotor anywhere, gave up shiped it out.
So it goes

I'm going to sneak this in to the thread. Rainbow Flyback 02.0480.405 also on the Hirsch "Jumper" strap; I'm struck by Zenith's balance and restraint in the use of color. Matte finish on the case. AR on the crystal. I know there's a reissue, that I haven't seen, but this is the original. It's got that subtle Telemeter rehaut, too. IMO, just lovely. Anyway, my watch of the morning.

I love Zenith watches and the FlyBack is one of my favorites. I own a Rainbow but have an eye out for one just like yours in the future.
