Zenith AH2711 Roll Call

I picked up this fantastic example of the reference AH2711 a couple of weeks ago - one I had been chasing for 3-4 years. Why aren't these more widely known / written about in the Zenith chronology? Based on aesthetic alone (not to mention pure rarity), I would have thought it would be in the top-5 most desirable vintage Zenith chronographs. It almost never shows up any "top" lists though.

Also including a side-by-side with the Movado M95 that shares a nearly identical dial (with the exception of a couple small differences).

A2711 is a fantastic watch and your is stunning! I love zenith manual winding chrono and the 146H/HP is the best version. Maybe the diver chrono (A277 and A3736) got more attention. I tried to achieve the A2711 in LeGant version two times but without success.
I also think there are other zenith models out of the radars that would deserve more knowledge.

Gorgeous watch--congrats on nabbing it. Out of curiousity, is it the same (other than the name, obv) as this? Same dimensions and layout, seemingly. Great watches.

(pic isn't the one Hodinkee sold--that one had hands, for a start--but close enough)

Same watch with same movement, in the 60’ Zenith couldn’ t sell their watches in USA with their brand

This and the UG’s?

Another beauty, from just far enough off the beaten path. Congrats!

Beautiful watch. Spectacular example. But not in the same league as the m95 IMO

That’s funny— I was thinking the opposite.

Congrats to the op on the pickup.

I’d (respectfully!) disagree with the assertion that they aren’t in the same league. The 146HP is a great movement, the dials are identical, and they’re both super rare. I think it comes down to dimensions and personal preference.

Awesome watch and so is Movado, too! There's one for sale on Vision Vintage for 4250 GBP.

I think like you, in general the 146hp is quite little known and underestimated. reality plays on par with other better known calibers

congrats on the wonderful AH2711, saw this too when it dropped online as well and marveled at what a wonderful specimen this was.
especially compared to the other AH2711 on eBay previously discussed here https://omegaforums.net/threads/zenith-146hp-its-a-stunner-but-what-a-price.127793/ .

would've totally jumped on it if not for a few recent acquisitions. well if you ever let it go, dibs? 😀

Got the Le Gant version. Love it!
This is my 3rd Zenith 146HP mvt chronograph.
This feels sort of high-end.

Hard to photograph such a glossy dial to capture the details of blued hands.

I was very fortunate to find this recently. The gloss black dial, applied logo and indices, and silver subdials with blued hands are impressively blingy in a way that just doesn't come out in photos. Instantly one of the stars of my collection.
