You probably already own a smartphone macro lens (and didn't know it)

Loupe + Stickytape = Macro !

The results are surprisingly good.

Of course, with such high pixel counts in the latest smartphones you can get plenty of Zoom just by cropping your images and save the trouble of dealing with a macro lens. But this setup gives you a depth-of-field that is artistically pleasing, and you get a waaay cool Through-the-Loupe vignette effect at no extra cost!

Give it a try -- I think you'll be pleased, too 馃榾

I used to have a 10x aplanatic gemmologists eye loupe. Less distortion than a typical loupe. I wonder how that would work? Wish I still had it!

No, that's barrel distortion from the lens 馃槈 Vignette is loss of clarity/light towards the corners of an image.

That is correct, sir.

Commencing testing of Omega loupe outside of watch geek activities.

This is clever. And if you want to get a little more high tech there is a cool macro lens for iPhone that i came across for just $70. Nice way to get cool photos of our watches. http://www.olloclip.com/product/iph...nJunction&utm_campaign=AffiliateMarketing2013

Did not know that "olloclip" devices. I have been messing with my Loupesystem (which is in fact great as a loupe) but is quite expensive and has not solved properly how to attach to my iphone (you must use an integral case, which I do not like).

I started another post curious about photography tips and I think using a loupe has to be the best and cheapest way to get amazing results for a low costs

I鈥檝e found my x12 loupe to be too much, so just order a x7 and thinking of trying a 3.5 or 5

What鈥檚 people鈥檚 go to magnification ?
