Would you buy a $1000 Timex?

I can’t think of anyone that would, you can buy an interesting vintage Omega, Longines, all kinds of good stuff for that.

I did pay more than that for my Apple Watch, but it’s built to a much higher standard

If you really want one, wait a year and pick up a nice used example for $100

I’ll pass on a $1K Time but I did have an old fashion made with a nice bourbon made for Atelier 😇

I own American Documents and the first Galli … both were in the $500 range … beyond that I have two Peanuts and the Original Marlins, my trusty Todd Snyder military field watch and the first Q … after that, took my name off the e mail list because, these are all dammed good watches and the temptation was too great. The finishing is first rate. Give Timex credit for their creativity, success and chutzpah… these will sell. Hell, I paid north of a grand for the Baltic Tri Compax. Why not?

Maybe. But I won't. It is a fair price, and they are trying to do cool and new things. Tool-less link removal is pretty cool.

At the 1-2k range there are some really, really compelling options used, but in the new market, it is a low price.

I think it looks good, and the case is attractive. With a more compelling movement I would consider buying at $1k

I probably wouldn’t but I like what Timex is doing lately.

I really like the look front-on.

The skeletonized case? Not so much.

Am also not interested in even knowing about a plated steel mid-case.

If I buy Omega instead of G-shock, why not Timex? Is a new Omega really worth 10K? It certainly doesn't cost anywhere near that to produce.

As long as the watch is designed nicely and won't quit in a few years. Timex has some interesting stuff. But so does Seiko at a quarter of the price, so that's a tough competitor.

I wouldn't buy this Timex because it reminds me of this Blancpain. I love the Blancpain, but not at $19.5k. Knockoffs/derivatives don't fill the space of the original. (This Timex may not be a knockoff, but it would feel that way to me.) I'd buy this Timex for 1k before I'd buy a Swatch for a quarter of that.

So no, I won't buy one but I don't think anyone would be crazy for buying one.

There are a lot of things I like about it, but the case isn't one of them.

No. Only because there are better options at the $1,100 or lower price range. But, Timex has been on point with their releases lately.
