OK, I am aware that this model of Wittnauer chronograph is uncommon and has a claim to fame as some kind of NASA "near-moonwatch" (if any of you could eddicate me on this, I'd be grateful), but USD 5100 for a nonrunner? I seem to have seen these go for around USD 2K in good condition. What am I missing?

What am I missing?

1) An insane seller.

2) A crazy seller.

3) A lunatic seller.

4) All of the above.

It ain't the seller. It was a straight auction. It got bid up to that level, and from the pattern (two guys bidding it up with a last minute snipe from a third to win) it looks legit. To make it still weirder, its a zero feedback seller who looks like he joined up just to flog this.

Can anyone teach me about this watch's claim to NASA/moonwatch background?
