Ah, makes sense....Thought it looked like a Rolex Oyster. Thanks for posting the original bracelet. As much of a Certina fan as I am, I like the Oyster better.

Weeeell, let's agree to disagree then 😂
I think this Certina bracelet (nicknamed Caterpillar i think) i just lovely, very original you don't find anything near it on any other brands !
Between this one and the Gay Frere (for the regular DS) I have to admit the gay freres is better

No, vintage rivited oyster without markings. The original bracelet is too short for me 😞

It's a shame it's too short, because you seem to have the - extremely rare - correct end links that are 19mm (for the divers) instead of the usual 18mm (for the regular DS)

In my opinion, you should look for a bigger bracelet (which will have the 18mm end links), swap the end link and sell the shorter one with the 18mm end links.

Thank you for the nickname. Six links are on the way from Spain to the Netherlands 😀

I'll be back 😉

Yessss, two bracelets in stock now and enough links.

And a NSA on the DS3.

Glad I inquired about the oyster....looks like you ended up with the correct oem links.😀

Different kind of Chronolympic, LCD Quartz ca 1980. I think this is my only (working) quartz Certina. At the time my quartz watches were not this nice - this feels very solid.

Hello fellow Certinerds

Just wanted to share my latest find - picked up this Certina DS N1 that totally blew my mind.

It has this deep bordeaux dial combined with a gold-steel bracelet, and honestly, after hours of research, I haven't found any record of this specific configuration anywhere.

I’m starting to think it might be a prototype that never went into mass production. Has anyone here ever come across something similar?

Originally I planned to flip it, but… it just fits perfectly on my 19cm wrist and the vibe is insane, so I listed it at an undecent price foir it not to sell 😂 . Feels super unique, so selling it might be a tough call. 🥲
Would love to hear if anyone has seen or owns this combo before, or has insights about possible prototypes or ultra-limited runs for this model.

Here are some shots in different lighting to capture the dial colour properly. Curious about your thoughts and any info you might have!

Ever since I got certified back in '77, I've always been fascinated with what folks in Europe were diving with, equipment-wise. More specifically it was the dive watches that caught my eye. In particular it was the now vintage Cerina DH-2 PH series that really stood out. Not being able to afford the genuine article, I "settled" for an homage by Helson which honestly was great. I have since moved on, selling the Helson and in 2024 I purchased their latest reiteration. It's great too!

That's very cool and looks great. Good catch!
I do think, in response to your question, that this is a genuine offered dial option on this N1 model. They came with a variety of dials from white, black with numbers to more classic, perhaps to compliment the gold tone case/bracelet options?
Not a lot of information on these indeed but similar dial design I've found on N2 and another model.
Hence, my view, it's a very rare combo and it might not have been a popular dial choice at the time. I would consider it an internet first 😀

I do have two questions. What's the reference and is it a NSA extension bracelet or a Certina one unbranded out of interest as I just can't make it out on the picture.

Happy to hear more inputs, but that's my take on it for the moment.
