Thanks for the clarification. I have seen this a lot on blue dials with lume plots so I always thought it was mostly due to the ageing tritium that eats away the paint.

Cool to see you got it up and running. In the realm of vintage, there's something soothing about a reliable quartz movement on the wrist haha. When it comes to the patina on the dial: One thing is paint degrading around the edges of the perforations. Another is even patination over the whole dial, like the purple on your dial. I'm no expert, but I think this is caused by UV exposure rather than moisture. The blue dial UGs seem to follow a pattern of blue, to purple, to brown, to yellow. Attached is the most "advanced" example I've seen so far. I think it's really neat.

Wow, this has really a lot of patina - maybe already too much for my taste. But it looks very cool, that´s for sure! You are right about vintage quartz watches - if none of the electronic components start to malfunction they are just ticking along with only new batteries every now and then. Very convenient. But I fear the modern battery will be empty after about a year of service as these old movements are consuming so much energy, we will see how often I will have to change the cell.
