Luck is preparation meeting opportunity.

And this was more than luck, it was blind luck since I had no movement pictures, just a killer case with killer olive pushers and a pristine crown pointing me to something special.

Well, other than that gorgeous dial that also hid what was beneath. But the dial held the key as to the approximate age and clinched the decision to buy. What was the key?

Any guesses as to what powered this chronograph?

Hint......case is 31-32mm wide plus crown.

If I saw this watch sitting on a table, I would think Helbros. Looking at the crown and pushers, I would think.................I don't know.
Is it a Venus inside?

No international phone call marks on 30 minute subdial.......so pre WWII. I think circa 1938 or so.

Magnificent watch, I love these 13ch/ 28.9 watches. They are very rare now and finding a good one is even rarer!

This looks like a lovely example

Here is my 13CH omega 28.9 prototype drivers example, it's the only one I am aware of and even the museum don't have one! They only have a dial and a drawing

I didn't think many 13Ch/28.9 had survived, especially in this condition. And from the looks through a loop, the movement seems to have spent most of its' time languishing in a drawer. I only see one indication of a possible service mark. The condition of the case/pushers/crown confirms my suspicions, I think. My watchmaker will give me his opinion soon. The dial has age related/lacquer degradations issues, but that just enhances it in my eyes.

Love your driver! Never even heard of this model.
