Hey guys,

What's the max file size I can upload for inserting into a post?

From my Android phone, it seems that if a file is bigger than about 1 MB, I can upload the file, but the 'button' to insert the image never appears. I have to resize the image and upload again.

Cheers

I always thought it was 10MB with a workaround by uploading to the likes of Photobucket and then copying back to the forum ?

For all intents and purposes there is no normally hittable limit, there are a number of 30MB+ images on the server (that triggered us to reduce it a bit as they were absolutely crippling for some people's internet) but this image I'm attaching is about 6MB and is a straight upload from my MacBook Pro. I'm not entirely sure what the actual limit is now but I'm guessing 10MB or so, which is still pretty high.

But yea what's happened is resolution on some phones has gone up a lot lately so you could exceed that under certain circumstances, Tapa also resizes and rescales automatically but to a stupidly small size and we'll be getting rid of it this year.

Thanks Ash. I don't know if it's a bug then. My phone takes pics that are about 6-7 MB. When I try to upload, the file is transferred to the server, but the option to insert it never appears. The only option I have is to delete it.

Looks like a browser's bug. Try desktop mode or another browser?

I just inserted this 2MB image from Android Chrome:
