What do people think about Hublot?

Hublot spirit of the Big Bang , similar to RM for a fraction of the price and aesthetically a lot nicer even incorporating a moon phase in some models. Hublot is doing pretty well on its own ( except their embroided watch line ) a bit over the top for me.

It is definitely a brand on the up. I've always found them a little brash but that probably says more about me than the quality of their watches. I'm sure their owners love them!

I would get one only if free and wait some time to have a positive price so that I may sell it outright. Would in meantime not wear it.

The only issue I have with Hublot is that they’ve taken design cues from AP. Not only taken but essentially built their brand on a design famously attributed to AP. Other than that, and a few gaudy designs, I’m a fan of their use of high-end and innovative materials.

You just have to buy what you like, and some Hublot watches are truly stunning. Funny how the haters like to compare to the AP Royal Oak as their reason, but then I saw the Girard Perragaux Laureato (which gets a pass from haters), which looks great as well. Check out the carbon glass model, I thought it was a Hublot at first glance. Seems a lot of manufacturers are now following them in terms of fusion, interesting case materials, and rubber straps - haha!

Unless I was a football player, I would not wear any Hublot watches.

Way more classy. 😎

I think Hublot is another fine swiss watch available to chose from. If you like it get one, if you don't then get a different brand. It is a big world out there.

Hublot is meant to be divisive. Their designs are purposely brash and unapologetically distinctive. I personally don't find them appealing at all, but I feel also that the brand generally doesn't deserve the hate that it gets from some snobs.

If you really love the watch and don't plan to sell it, who cares.

You can say this about any brand not named Rolex. Even many Pateks and all non Royal Oak Audemars lose much of their value.

But not as hard as Hublot. Well: Panerai perhaps

Nautilus family is the one who just keeps gaining value, like ROs AP...

Watches can have a very distinctive design language; they can be conservative or brash, even gauche. We can all express our own preferences with the watches we choose to add to a collection and wear.

Personally, the design really does nothing for me. The VC Overseas, a very highly regarded piece, also does nothing for me. So there you go. Depending on your POV I’m either very snobby or an idiot. 😁

Hublot at the end is an hype brand, if I am crazy and decide to buy an Hublo a single call to my watch « caterer » and I get 35% discount , just show Thant it is a brand supported by « stars » and that’s it , no history just shine.
