The video is stunning, as is the watch. Wow.

Nevertheless, my ears are bleeding when I hear their English. Besides the no-efforts accent, imho all those fancy French words they keep repeating end up by sounding somehow ridiculous. At least to me, as a native French speaking person it really does 🤦

Um, no. Rolex makes fine watches and markets them better than any other manufacturer, but they are not in JLC’s league. Neither is Omega. And I have much respect for both brands.

I think it's a limited edition of 10. But I'm getting daily emails from JLC about it, so I imagine it's main value for them is reputational.

I’m floored.

As people have said JLC is in a class of its own. If you ever have the ability to visit a JLC boutique you will be floored by the finishing and balance of the watches. They are far above Rolex and Omega.

Indeed. When I bought my Reverso at an AD, I also fell in love with the RG Master Calendar. After looking at ALS and Patek, and getting really turned off by a Patek saleswoman, I eventually bought one for a fair deal at a Paris AD. I felt no buyers remorse. Still don’t. The only reason they get compared to the crown or Omega is that they are willing to make watches in SS at “affordable” prices. I don’t see that as a fault, I see it as good business.

Quality of the holy trinity for a more "affordable" price, they are big in the game. For me at top tier there is Vacheron, Audemars, Patek and JLC, the holy 4th ? 😁
I cant compared them to Rolex or Omega, JLC have always been in higher tier to me.
They went so far with their Reverso, a lot more than Omega with the Speedmaster and Rolex with the Submariner.

Agreed. There are many buyers, myself included, who prefer stainless steel over precious metals. I own the JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon in stainless steel. It’s a stunningly handsome watch. I can’t think of another dress watch from any manufacturer that retails for less than 10k that rivals it for appearance and offers a better combination of pedigree, technology and value.

That’s what these LTD pieces are supposed to do. I think JLC has suffered a bit from their legacy as a “watchmakers watchmaker”...
