Poor Archie.
I personally feel it's crap.
Could make for a good insurance job.

Why has he set up a Go Fund Me page? Hasn't he heard of insurance? Or are they not paying out because he forgot to tell them about his watch collection and his YouTubing?

If that is real I actually feel for the guy. What a terrible mistake to keep all of his watches at home at once. Especially being a public figure, flexing his goods online on a daily basis.

I'm sure it's real. And it must be gutting for him. But I don't see why it's down to his viewers to act as his insurers. He still has an Explorer II so why would anybody donate money so he can buy more watches instead of giving it to, say, the Red Cross or Cancer Research?

I don't watch Archie, don't know where he lives. But in the US, most home owners insurance will only cover up to given amount for jewelry theft (which watches fall under). It's not enough for anyone with a large collection of expensive watches. In order to have proper coverage one needs a jewelry rider on top of this, which can be very expensive.

On my contents insurance all items over the value over £1000 must be listed individually and premiums rise accordingly, I don't mind a bit extra as mine are covered for accident damage too, and away from the home, approx £15-£20 per watch, a new Monaco is £5k+ now so to me worth every penny.
Sorry no idea on costs elsewhere for these terms on cover.

Same here. Any valuables over £1500 are itemised (although there is a maximum of 5 items with Aviva) and are covered for a small increase in premium.

Archie is in Oz, and even if they weren't able to be covered, it's still off to expect people to donate to a Go Fund Me!

It's more than triple that amount in the US. Last time I checked, which was around 2 years ago, a $6000 watch was about $70/year (with no deductible). So to cover 10 watches would mean around $700/year.

Wow, there are advantages to the UK then at times, I've had two claims that resulted in cheques being paid out for replacement cost at a significant increase over price paid, my watch premium is around the same as insurance cost for the rest of the contents. Happy days.

Cool, good for you. 👍
I've been told that high-end watch theft and increases in claims are part of the reason for the high premium. Plus my insurance requires an appraisal to cover anything over $5000.

Is there an individual item limit?

Artist is Gal Yosef. Saw these in Eden Gallery in London. Very expensive!
