Wakmann triple date

hi guys!

Recently got myself a Wakmann Triple date. I understand it is either fitted with a valjoux 72C or a valjoux 730. I have some photos here, wondering if anyone can help me ID the movement?
Also anyone has info when did Wakmann changed the movement from Valjoux 72C to valjoux 730 or vice versa?

Thanks!

The calibre number can be found under the balance wheel. It's a 730. You can make it out in your third photo...

Also, the pushers on the 72 are not equidistant from the crown. The bottom one is more distal.

Some help if no movement shots👍

Nice example

Thanks! that is something new learnt.

So anyone knows when Wakmann switched the movement from a Valjoux 72c to a 730? or vice versa?

Be aware that exsists a third iteration. The Valjoux 723 is the rarest movement that can be found on Wakmann Full Calendar chronograph.
I will add a pic from mine tomorrow.

A very nice example, on my list, and a watch that seems to be rising in price...

I'd grab one ASAP. They really are superb watches. They all seem to have been in sock drawers or something.

It seems like it was only recently people started realizing that there is this watch fitted with the valjoux 72 movement which can be had for relatively affordable range.

As promised here a pic of the Valjoux 723. Sorry, I don´t have any better movement pic right now.

With around 39mm very good size to. Mine is gp but in predistine condition.

Unfortunately the movement is in need of a service.
From time to time I´m thinking about selling it, but these Wakmanns are pretty cool...

I have the same watch. Could you snap a pic of the crown? Just curious about the logo.

I don't suppose anyone knows if there are display backs made by Preik or another that will fit these Wakmann cases?

I tried to buy one yesterday that looked a little rough and definitely needed service. It went for nearly 1800. I fear I missed the window for me buying one at a price I think is reasonable.

I just learned why there are some minor differences in these. I'm sure many already know, but this came in a 37 and 39mm size. Now I'm more interested.

Here’s my later Val 730 at 39mm. The worn pushers bother me a bit but it’s a great size and I wear it often.

I think I recall reading the 730 replaced the 72c in the late ‘60s.

Here’s mine (730). Works perfectly with jeans, or a suit. Superb dial. Valjoux movement. What’s not to love?!?

I think that's the first time I've ever seen the word "distal" used in text and certainly the first time I've seen it used outside of anatomy. I've noidea why, but it made me smile .... carry on!
