Hi all,
I’ve seen a really nice Tissot PR516 with lemania 1873 on a French website.
The watch seems likes new.... but do not have pics of the mouvement.

Is it normal that the lume on the hands has a different color from the lume on the dial?

Do you see any red flags that I may have missed?

I don’t know much about those vintage Tissot...any idea of what it worth?

Man that thing is stunning. While I don't know the market on those, I would guess this example shown would command a very big premium. 👍

Indeed it’s stunning! But I have absolutely no idea of a fair price range...
Is around 1000€ a fair price?

2012 one was sold for 750€ over a german watch forum.

So i would say yes it´s a fair price for a watch in this condition.

Yes I think an example in that kind of stellar condition will steadily rise in value. 👍

But only if you don't wear it. 🙁

I’m not willing to flip on watch’s I buy, I just want to have nice watch, try new vintage watch etc...

So it is ok for me to buy, then enjoy it few months / years, then eventually sell it. If I sell it the price i bought it, it is perfect, if I loose 100 to 200€, it is still ok for me.
it is not my job, just want to have fun with them and not loose too much money 😀

The watch is mentioned as NOS so price is in line with it.
Used one are more around 700-800€.
For the lume, some of this models have a more green colour instead of yellow of hands.

You have to add it to a rotation where it’s only worn occasionally. After a few months, you can retire it for a while. Then, bring it back into the rotation from time to time. Once bought, I wouldn’t sell it unless dire circumstances forced my hand - it’s that exceptional.

Don’t have a rotation yet? Then you need to collect more vintage watches.

Given the condition of this one, I’d establish a big rotation right away. Beautiful piece!

I have a similar two register model (Tissot cal 872/Lemania 1272 iirc). The lume on mine is a cream colour, but the hands have blackened - a common "feature" where the seals have been compromised. Mine came out of a humid environment and I had the replace all the gaskets to stop it steaming up on the wrist.
They come with both a red and a black pulsations bezel. Getting one with a good bezel is critical, as they're very difficult to find.
A lovely hand winding movement, that is based on the same Lemania movement (1272/1273) as the three register 861 Speedmaster movement.

So, current asking price is 1000€, I will have to add around 300€ to get it service....
I was not on the hunt for it, but definitely willing to add a nice chrono to my rotation...

I’ve never seen one in real life, it would help to take my decision 😀

1000€ is fair value, given the condition and the bracelet.

The green lume might become hard to ignore after a while (but I think lume on hands and dial is original).

As said above, Tissot offer an extract-services, but I wouldn't bother as they virtually only give you back the information you can feed them.

It's on eBay as well, looking for €1500 so you'd be doing well to get it for €1000. I have one of the same models - it's reference 40528-1X - the hands are much darker but the lume is still a bit "green" and it's clearly not in as good condition as the one at the top. Then again, it cost me less than €1000 ...

These are great on the wrist though I prefer the first one I got, which is 40528-2X - the creamy lume and the less angular subdials is a lot less "1970s BABY!" than the one above...
