A lifelong friend of mine has this watch which was passed down from his dad. I believe he's had the watch for close to 50 years. Last time his watchmaker serviced the watch, the topic of selling the watch to one of the watchmaker's customers was briefly discussed. Naturally he was interested as he doen not wear the watch often and at the same time reluctant to sell it as it was his dad's.

I thought that before he makes any decision he should learn something about the watch itself, as he knows very little about it. I have attached photos and hoped that the OF experts could have a look and share any information about the watch. Sorry, I know the photos are not very crisp ....

Thanks for any assistance.

Maybe some photos where the engravings are legible? It looks like the camera is focused on the background.

Dan, yup real lousy pictures. I see if he has better shots .......

hold the cell phone about a foot above the watch and zoom in. Weird, but it works

Totally works. And someone here awhile back recommended putting the phone on top of a coffee mug (as a stabilizer), and zooming in from there. This works remarkably well.

Patek ref 2416 with a 9'''-90 movement.
