Good morning. Whilst I recognise this does not have a complicated movement, I do think it is unique.
Would be interested in hearing if anyone has one, knows of them and can share their thoughts, as I am sorely tempted.
Brief background...microbrand started by a couple of chaps in the UK, 50s inspired design, 38mm dresser, Sellita hand wind Elabore, same colour date change, domed crystal with AR.

Not my photos.

Thank you.

I have a grey dial on order. Still awaiting my tracking number, though. Hopefully it'll be here very soon, though.

From pics I've seen so far, it's turned out very well and is a cut above most microbrand offerings. Swiss made, and a terrific design to boot.

Hoping this will quell my desire for a Nomos.

Thanks. I had some dialogue with Oliver yesterday....there are still some left from the production run. I'm in the UK so guess would get one reasonably quickly. They do look stunning. I'm not sure which colour (not silver) or whether the syringe hands are the way to go.

Did they only make one?

I originally pledged for a blue dial with alpha hands. Ended up changing it to grey dial with syringe hands which is what will hopefully turn up soon. Now I'm wondering if I should have gone for a blue dial with syringe hands! I'm still not sure.

It is rather nice, the blue! But equally, the grey also looks terrific. Would be interested in hearing your views and a photo or two if you have time.

The design...try and keep up! Do you not think it is unique?

Try and keep up? It is a common-as-muck movement clad in a steel case with a pretty dial. If your definition of "unique" is that no other watch is 100% like it, then ALL watches are unique.

It looks nice. Unique? No. Particularly interesting? Not in my opinion.

But look - there's another subforum called "other watch brands forum" where it would fit right in 😀

Agreed!
They justify with the case quality, the domed crystal, the same colour date wheel and the Elabore movement (albeit workhorse). It did well with the Kickstarter campaign as far as I can see, so there are some supporters out there.

£699 is a lot, for sure. I got in at the Kickstarter price which was much less, but I still think it's worth the current price - this is more than just a workhorse movement in any old watch. They've spent a lot of time and effort getting the details on this one right, and where other microbrands might have cut corners to save costs, they have held true to those details.

Interesting and good to hear. I guess you must be getting yours soon? I'm pondering....!

Got a grey on order with alpha hands. Been waiting a while to receive the Veli. Sold my Tangente for this, as it was no longer getting any wrist time.

I've only seen one watch from production so far. I'll post pics once mine gets delivered. Price was great for what you get imo. The Veli, wooden box, and travel case. If quality is what I expect it to be, then I'll consider it money well spent.

Id rather pay 240 bucks for a 21mm band on a 40.5mm case and an inhouse movement. Granted its a big dome plexi crystal and not a domed sapphire. Its a shame that the new v4 with the grey dial and rose gold markers are 42mm with 22mm strap.

Still the Vapaus is a nice looking watch though, and I'm not dissing it the 38mm makes it very attractive.

Thanks. Looks stunning and I'm sure you are pleased. Does the case stack up?
