Hello all!

Not sure if this kind of thread already exists, but I am waiting to my latest purchase to arrive and cant wait any more 😀

Can I see your UG tank watches please! I know they are out there yet I've seen quite few good looking pieces on IG lately

Those photos are from the previous owner. I dont know much about that watch and all info is highly appriciated! If I am not wrong its from 50-60s. 14k gold case with stainless steel back. UG Caliber 10

Nice watch.
Solid gold, gold capped or gold plated? Could you post a pic of the caseback?

With a SS back that would normally mean a gold plated case.

Here's a few tanks that I used to have, I miss the gilt black dial...

Yes and the tarnishing also usually happen with gold plated watches. Nice little touch tough 😁

Here are some...😉

Wow, amazing. Love all of these. The last one, tank à guichet, is insane. Great modern UG!

@MarktheTime called, I best answer. Here is my tank, and no it isn't steel 😀 I've only seen one other (black dial variant) in the 1994 UG auction catalog. I would love to see if others exist since the variations in the model number indicate at least 3 dial variations existed. Enjoy!

I want to add this little number to this brilliant thread. I know it is more ‘cioccolatone’ than ‘tank’ but I find it pretty charming all the same.
Serial places it to around 1963 and it has the calibre 256 inside.

There are so many cool little things about this watch.
Central seconds hands are less often seen in UG tank watches of this era and the lines and finish on the case are razor sharp.
The ‘U’ applied logo, indices and quarterly lume plots have an elevated sculpted finish to them, hard to capture in photographs, but quite compelling in person. The glossy dial can make the polished hour markers appear double height in reflection (if you know what I mean).

After years of collecting, I continue to find the sheer array of Universal Genève out there remarkable.
I bought this one for beer money and it brings me such quiet joy. What a company. What watches!
