Maybe I'm not alone, but I see the prices and competition for Omegas climbing. Not a bad thing but in terms of long term holding, what brands do you see as undervalued right now? I'm in this for the collecting and pride of a great watch on the wrist but what brands will we look back on 5/10 years from now and say "I remember when I could buy X back in 2014 and now they're selling for Y"? Curious to see what people with a lot more experience and knowledge than me have to say.

Maybe not so much brands but certain models within Omega and Rolex. Especially Rolex. I think folks will start to discover that the 34mm Rolex models are very much undervalued and start to give them a closer look.

The differences between a Sub and an AirKing are 4mm and a rotating bezel. That's it. Same movement almost lock-step from 1957 until today, yet a 5500 cN be had for $1500-$1800 and a Sub for $6500 same era. I think desireability will rise

I'm going to say Movado pre-Zenith, especially chronographs. Their in-house movements from back then are simply amazing.

Movado during Zenith ain't bad either.
Assuming you are speaking of vintage, Eterna is an evergreen up-and-comer...has defied predictions by not popping yet.

I don't think Eterna will ever "pop". Not enough cachet. Which is unfortunate for the people who have muscled into the market thinking they're next.

At the moment it's hard to get a feel for what is "undervalued" because most of the "value" is attached to a brand name rather than the actual value of the watch/complication. I wouldn't be looking for the next big thing so much as looking at the sections of the market that have traditionally held their value.

If you're looking there then the usual suspects of military chrono's, specialist dive watches and undisputable provenance beat any thing else.

just my 2 cents.

To add to Lou S's reply I would add pre-ELP Zenith chronos too. Not that they aren't already valued but I think there is upside.
