A week ago I bought a Universal Geneve Compur watch with the 285 movement. Can anyone shed a light on this model?
It's the only Universal Geneve that I've come across with a decimal scale. According to the number on the back it's reference model 22*81. I can't see the third number correctly ( I still haven't received the watch), but it looks like a 4. The case looks very similar to the Universal film model, the bevel on the lugs is almost identical. Judging from the serial number it's from 1941 or 1942.

Another new member with a new Universal watch! we are multiplying like rabbits.

It's all-original except for the bottom pusher. The ref number is 22481, and I've verified that in the Sala book. It looks identical to a ref 22242 to my eyes. Do you know what the diameter of this case is?

Been banished by my family to the house I grew up in. My newborn is a week old and I have the flu, hence the exile. I was left with a camera and a couple of watches, one of them is the UG Compur I bought 3 months ago. Don't know about you but every time you search for a UG compur on the net you get the images of the compur camera. I decided to change that and shoot both the camera and the watch. The camera is F.Deckel Compur Primus and is around 10 years younger than the watch. Enjoy the images

Quite an amazing watch--the dial is so complicated yet beautiful. Congrats, and good luck with getting rid of the flu!

What glass were you shooting?--the bokeh is almost more distracting than the subject... in such a creamy, beautiful way.

Thanks. I used an old Canon 1D with a 24mm ultrasonic Canon lens.
I wish I had my Walter Mandler's Elmarit-R Prime's with me when I did the photos. I'm expecting a rather cool Universal chronograph in the next week or so. Expect another photo session with the new piece and the Leica lenses, if I can steal them back for a couple of days.

Beautiful. Seriously, beautiful.

We need to have a Scotch.
I'm honestly glad you like them and I'm always, really always, in the mood for Scotch. I think I'll have a glass right now.
@woodwkr2 I salute you.
