Hi all,

It's nice to see a dedicated UG forum. As an intro here's my oversized ref.22430 (46mm). The wife & kids say it's too big for me, but what do they know 馃槈 . I've collected pics of many variations of this watch from the net over time, maybe I'll post them later.

Gah! 馃グ I love the oversized Compaxes. And that one has a gob-smackingly perfect dial. More pics please, esp of the movement.

Wife and kids are right but who cares when wearing such a beauty ? By the way, do you wear it on a regular basis ?

Congratulations and thanks for posting this !

Wowserz 馃檮

That dial is absolutely pristine! You have a most impressive piece there. Would love to see more pictures, especially of caseback and movement, and would love to hear how you came to acquire the piece and any background on it. It didn't come with an artillery gun, did it?

Thanks for all the comments guys. You're right Noodia, it is a bit of a monster but I do wear it, it looks quite good with a suit believe it or not. woodwkr2, I have no real info on the reference, sometimes you hear something about military usage but how then to explain the "telephone call" divisions on the minutes sub-dial? Also a telemetre scale would seem more appropriate than a tachymetre one for artillery. I have seen one tele scale version sold by an Italian dealer last year but mostly they have tachy.

This is the most common dial variation, I have only seen one other one like mine, here on another Italian dealer's site. That dial is also in very good condition, this is not always the case as LouS implies. My actual watch is pictured in Lang & Meis' To Stop Time, you can see a movement photo there too. There is a very nice pic of the movement in my second link above (caseback too). Better look at them rather than wait for me to get around to taking my caseback off (sorry). The outside of the caseback is bare metal with no reference engraving. This may also be another variant or possibly a different reference, there were a few different 46mm watches I believe.

There was also a Zenith version of this watch (the "Zenittone") on the same dealer's site. When I inquired about it, he told me it had just been stolen from him at a watch fair. I don't know what he's asking for this UG, but I'm guessing one kidney and/or limb.

Its the sunglasses with the keeper strap that make the watch in that picture

Awesome watch... and of the few I have seen, that is by far the best condition yet!

And the pocket square. You can't pull off a watch like that without a pocket square.

I want to see Paddington rocking the Zenittone Flava-Flav style.

Absolutely. It's around half the quoted price for the chrono24 one in the link.
