Is it me, or has the forum recently been flooded with advert windows?

I’ve not changed my settings. Still browsing on my iPad.

In the last week or two, every couple of posts I get a Google Ad breaking up the flow. Lots of them. Too many!

The forum is now frustrating me, rather than entertaining and informing, which is a shame.

Has anyone else noticed this?

a simple 50$ upgrade will remove those ads and help support the site.

Fortunately, you have the option of boosting the entertainment and information value of the forum for the rest of us, by adding to your 18 posts.

I like to think of the annoying pop-up ads as a modern day cilice.

It is a voluntary form of personal punishment for the eventual benefit of the OF community.

I’m in a jam I dumped my adblocker for this site. It was before the option upgrade was offered. I figured I’d look at the ads to support this place. They don’t bother me that much. Now do I reinstall it and pay the money? Does me looking at the ads provide more money?

Unless you use the site a LOT and also interact with the ads and purchase things you see advertised, it's likely that paying for a subscription supports the site more than the ads do. It's also a more pleasant experience. And if it floats your boat, the L2 subscription offers 2x the support.

What is 2x the support mean? Does a mod come to my house and set my watches for me, I’m down for that.

OF staff do it twice as often as they do for those who only opt for L1 support.

Send them to me and I will set them every day and test them too 👍

We’re working on it at present, the latest threads page in particular needs work and we’re going to substitute some inlines for a sidebar and try to break that up.

4 GIANT ads on the home page, 9 ads on a single page inside a thread, something has definitely escalated quickly, I know I have to option to get the ad free subscription but this is pretty intense to be honest.

Can you drop me a PM with some screenshots, we’re still tuning things and its a slow process because we only get updates of data once a day and the ability to make significant changes once a week or so but we have divs and UI elements they attach to that are in different places and do different things on different screen sizes and at different breakpoints.
