I came across what I think is a really nice oversized rose gold Mono. I'm still catching up on paying for past purchases so not really in buying mode at the moment, but it's in europe and seems quite reasonably priced to me. I don't have any connection with the watch or seller, but if someone here is keen on it, just DM me for details....

I know this wonderful video is all over Instagram this morning from those whose pieces are featured, but for those of you who aren’t active IG users, it’s a cool digital mash-up of Monodatics by user @uptimewatch, including ones owned by @Bill Sohne , @guilhermecanta, @MattF and myself. Enjoy! 🍿

I saw this come up yesterday at dinner and showed my fiancée. Nicely put together and I'm hopeful that I'll slowly convince her to allow a Monodatic into the collection at some point with a slow drip-feed of related content... wish me luck!

Black Monodate ???

no Geneve text
unusual case (does have UG stamping inside case back)
black date wheel

The missing Geneve is puzzling. At first, I thought "well maybe there's a technical reason like it was technically too difficult - consider how the Geneve's legibility is poor on the waffle dials" but then I noticed that SWISS is printed fine and is at roughly the scale one would expect Geneve to appear. But why fake this obscure piece - implausible. Any thoughts why Geneve is missing? And what do you think about the price?

I have seen Monodatics (not Monodates) with Universal only on the dial. Most of the time these were waffle dials.

I've seen the missing text before as well, not a lot, but multiple examples. Have not researched to form a theory or conclusion, but my gut says it happens sometimes. I think it's a quite interesting watch, I would want to get really clear on the case size. It was for sale before on eBay by timetitans at 34mm and now listed at 33mm, I would ask for a digital calipers shot on the case. I think the price is reasonable assuming everything checks out.

Also, there is another thing that intrigues me: if the case is steel, this is a crown variant i haven‘t seen before. Really great find!

I recently acquired this Monodate Automatic from a well-known friend of the show. Rose gold 37mm dated to around 1950. The finish and elegance of the case is particularly striking.
