question for the owners: how does the Flightmaster wears on the wrist compared to the Speedmaster mark ii? Both have endlinks hidden at the underside of the watch. Are the endlinks the same distance from eachother or does the Flightmaster wears bigger? I realise the case on top of the wrist is bigger, but asking about the wrist feeling caseback/bracelet.

Flightmaster is bigger. The end links are 22mm vs 20mm for the MKII. The cal 911 flightmaster wears bigger than the 910 due to the thicker case.

I own both and wear the 911 daily. Whenever i wear the 910 i feel like its not there.

Although the Flightie is a fair chunk, it doesn't feel too big to me so long as the bracelet is well sized.
I am odd shaped human and part of that is that I have slim wrists and relatively large hands, I have the nickname "Bits & Pieces" because my mates reckon I look like I've been made of the left over bits & pieces of different blokes!
the problem I have is getting a bracelet properly size for my wrist past my great big paw! It takes some wriggling it through.
So putting the Flightie on is a bit of a ball ache but once there it's there it's quite comfy, but due to it's weight it's important that the bracelet is sized properly or it will roll about annoyingly.

I’m not sure if these photos will help answer your question, but I’ve tried to take a photo of my MKII and flightmaster to give you a feel for the lug situation and the relative height of both watches.

As others have said, with the flightmaster being so top heavy a properly fitted and non stretched bracelet is paramount. The MKII sits lower but the end link is exposed from the side as it doesn’t have the full tonneau end link covers like the flightmaster, so is perhaps not as elegant in that respect.

I love my flightmaster but when wearing it I’m very aware of its presence. My MKII on the other hand feels quite invisible and compact in comparison.

The MkII case feels like any other watch whereas the Flightmaster shares height with the Cal176 "volcano/jedi" cases and my over-riding feeling is of tucking my arm in a bit to protect the case from the risk of accidental bumps.
I can't imagine wearing the Flightmaster with a loose fit bracelet.
We've not yet mentioned straps: I think that a strap can work but thickness, or rather thin-ness at the lug ends is crucial.

I treid the Flightie with various straps..........it just never looked right, visually out of balance!

Thank you for your replies and sharing your personal experiences.

Looking at the photos it looks like the bracelet of the Flightmaster is just as long as on the mark 2. The photos help, thanks.

I was referring to the distance between the endlinks as seen from the caseback. Since the Flightmaster has hooded lugs but the bracelet is attached close to the caseback, it seems like quite similar.

I agree that a good fit on a not too stretched bracelet is important. Thanks for your help. I have a feeling the FM will work out for me.

I have a first-generation 911 originally supplied in the 910 case (with the original red-dot pushers) and I'm always amazed at how much of a difference it makes compared with the 911 that I originally signed up here to sell in 2013.
