A sad day for Williams, but they've had several sliding door moments. What if Frank had agreed to run Nakajima back in 1988? Would they have lost Honda power? What if they had given Adrian Newey equity in the business, as he wanted? What about the relationship with BMW, which admittedly turned sour for Sauber...but Williams and BMW should have been a match made in heaven.
My read of it is that they've made several bad business calls, and as a result are now right against the wall. I hope they survive, but apart from Latifi Snr, I don't see many likely buyers.
