It's the men's final most predicted, and hopefully it's a good one. Felix put up a good fight, particularly in the second set where his serve was ticking along well. But he never gave up, and I'm sure he will rue the missed opportunities he had on all those break points. Felix and Shapo are the only people to even take a set off Sinner so far in this event.
Some of the rallies were amazing - both players just hammering the ball back and forth at what looked like 95% on every shot - one was 19 shots before Felix netted the ball. Felix did well when he came to the net, something he's not known for, but that I hope he incorporates more into his game. I read that he was most pleased with his mental performance through this event, and to me that's a very good sign as that can add a ton of confidence no matter what the sport is.
Djokovic now holds another record that Roger or Rafa never held - he is the only man in the open era to make all 4 semifinals in majors in one year, and fail to make any of the finals. I didn't see his whole press conference, but the bits of it I did see he looked resigned to the fact that he's not good enough to beat these guys. I saw some speculation that he might finish at Australia or Wimbledon next year, so I guess we'll see. The fact that he had a relatively mundane run through the draw (some 4 set matches but nothing that went to 5), and then talked about not having the energy to compete is striking - I can't recall him saying those things before.
Carlos didn't look like he had to work too hard at all. His level was just so far above Novak's.
Women's final will be interesting. For Anasimova to make it back to a final after the terrible double bagel defeat at Wimbledon is pretty amazing, so I'm going to be cheering for her I think. I'll have to see if I can put up with Sabalenka's screaming enough to watch the whole match...
