TAG Heuer service experiences

I took my Link to a local TAG AD and since I didn't buy the watch from them, they charged me $75 to ship to the service center. They said that if I had purchased through them their own watchmaker would have worked on it. It was under warranty at the time.
I would expect them to send it foc to TH for a warranty repair if you had bought it at their store, doing the repair themselves is not cost effective if it still is within the warranty period.

I also heard they actually get charged half of the service cost and collect full price from the customer.
Pretty standard - there's a cost price, a trade price, and a retail price for the service.

Some ADs (WoS among them) charge more - an additional cost ostensibly for shipping & insurance. I prefer shipping myself, as I not only over-provision on packaging, but also ensure pictures are taken at every packing step. Couriers, like insurance companies, will use any excuse to avoid a payout.

I bought a Carrera from the Tag store in Murray, UT. I wore the watch for 1 month when it stopped working. I went back to the store and they were apologetic and said that they only thing they could do was send it in for service which they promised to expedite. They said it could take 2-4 weeks. We’ve just hit the 5 week mark and when they log into the system, it says it should have been done with no other updates. Why they didn’t replace it and give me a new watch with my same bracelet is the first strike on very poor customer service. The fact that they’ve had it to repair longer than I have owned it, is strike 2. Third strike is that they weren’t honest about how long it would take to repair. At this point, I’d really like to get my money back. For a $3500 purchase, this is one of the worst ones I have made. I wish I had researched this better before I made my purchase as I would never have bought a Tag Heuer watch. Very disappointing. Buyer beware.

This is clearly an outlier case regarding the watch stopping one month into the purchase. The duration of the service depends on the actual traffic they have and also the availability of the parts at the time of the service.

Getting a replacement could be an option if the problem is diagnosed. You can't just get a replacement willie nillie like you're returning something on Amazon.

Sounds like they’ve lost it.

Obviously it’s not Amazon. I thought it was an outlier and asked the store to replace it. They said they could not. I still think it’s really crappy customer service for a $3500 watch. At this point, I’d be happiest with a refund.
