Swatch Irony or Casio G shock?

I am moving to Malawi in August to start a new teaching job and I am not planning to take any of my omega watches, at least until I get a feel for the place. I am considering either a swatch watch or basic casio g shock. Does anyone have any experience about the quality these two watch makes? Thanks in advance, all opinions are appreciated.

Both are good. I have a G-Shock and love it. I would say though if you're an Omega lover and/or an analog watch lover Swatch would be the better choice.

Or if you like mechanicals maybe consider something like a new Orient or Seiko 5. Not expensive at all.

After reading a few advice tips on travelling in Africa then non shiney seems to be the way to go otherwise I would have gone for a seiko diver all day long.

I have a couple gshocks. they're well made, if a little boring. very tough, utilitarian.
