··Melbourne AustraliaI'm currently servicing a nice gold Longines pocket watch.
All was going well when I started, and then came hands removal. Hour and minute OK, but when I removed the sub-seconds hand, something didn't look right. The hole in the pipe was HUGE, what's going on here?
I got the dial off and then found another "unusual feature" on the 4th wheel pivot, and I sure Longines never put it there.
It seems that the pipe on the hand got damaged, too the ingenious solution was to bog an oversised "pipe" onto the hand and stick a correspondingly oversized sleeve on the pivot.
I cannot justify re-fitting this bodge job so I'm on the hunt for a gold coloured sub-seconds hand with a pipe diameter close to 0.28mm and 5mm long.
If anyone knows of a source for a replacement I'd appreciate it.
