Straps on the First Omega In Space

Hi. I am thinking of getting the FOIS but I have reservations on the difficulty in obtaining alternative 19mm leather straps.

(1) where did you get your leather or rubber straps for the FOIS?

(2) i do not like Nato or Zulu Straps (generally) nor the 1125 steel bracelet on the FOIS.

(3) Anyone fitted a 20mm leather strap to the FOIS?

(4) Does Omega sell the Rallye strap on 19mm?

Thanks for sharing.

Not quite the same as a FOIS, but the CK2998 uses the same case shape. Thus:

Probably my favorite, the Speedmaster Racing bracelet. Screw and pin, really comfortable. I'm using this as a hopeful stopgap before getting the 60th anniversary bracelet. ($800)

Here's a Hodinkee rally strap. It's nice. ($150)

Old school JB Champion. Pretty awesome and definitely a NASA/vintage feel. ($650+)

Personal favorite, GLC rally. This particular color is a LE from a Porsche 928 seat, but there are many others. Fantastic quality, probably my favorite next to the bracelet. ($130ish)

Alternate color:

Hope this helps; there's a lot that would look good on a FOIS. Olive, browns, blacks... a grey matter alligator that's unpadded would look excellent as well.

Also, check out the custom strapmakers like Camille Fournet and Jean Rousseau. Typically with straps, you get what you pay for. I've yet to buy a strap under $150 and be happy with it.

Do you know for sure if the 60th anniversary bracelet fits to the CK2998/FOiS? Omega Germany claimed that it does not. But I strongly doubt that. I'd love to fit it on my FOIS. Thx for your help. Cheers!

Honestly I don't know yet. No one does. I'll have to wait for a bit until the Speedmasters star delivering, but it's not even known yet if those bracelets will be for sale.

Thank you for your reply! I reckon you can always turn to a grey market dealer and get it, but they will not take it back if it doesn't fit. The reference is 020STZ006241.

Hi all,

I’m new to OmegaForums here and would like to ask a question to the experts...

Does the Omega Speedmaster Racing rubber band works/matches the case of a FOIS?

References:
Omega Speedmaster 19/18 19mm black rubber strap reference 98000416 & deployment buckle 18mm ref.: 94521873.

Appreciate your insights before jumping into buy one.
Thank you

Schirra used some elastic bracelet for a while... at least during training, before choosing the Komfit Forstner / Jacoby Bender steel mesh bracelet

Two Stitch Straps do a beautiful charcoal 19mm strap and Ivan made a custom grey 19mm for me too. They do some great NATO in leather to fit also.
Uncle Seiko had the bracelet covered (still awaiting delivery) and Forstner just released the comfort fit with bull horns that looks amazing on the FOIS.

there are plenty of options out there from off the shelf to custom work and all very decent pricing.

Man, the pix in this thread really make me wanna buy the FOIS.

And I already own the FOIS.

Definitely checking out Two Stitch straps. I'm a fan of canvas/sailcloth straps -- nice to some options for the FOIS.

Hi Guys

Got my strap today from Delugs. I went with their custom strap option. Cost 270AUD and took roughly 9 weeks from ordering to receiving (was delayed for roughly 2-3 weeks, but they gave me one of their leather valet trays for the inconvenience).

I went with their "Sailcloth" option which is made from FKM rubber. But has a sailcloth type pattern imprinted into it. I wanted a strap that looked similar to the silver snoopy strap.

Best thing about going custom was that i was able to provide the exact measurements needed to fit my 6.25inch wrist so that the deployant clasp would be dead center on my wrist on the middle hole (I selected the option to have 5 holes).

I would definitely recommend this strap over the over-priced Artem straps which is 409AUD for their Hydroflex, which i believe is basically the equivalent of the strap i had made from Delugs.
