Strange new behaviour with images

iPadOS/ Safari version: 15.6

I suppose it may be a moment of dropped/slow internet connection that may cause this.

I noticed just after upgrading Safari that when I open a thread containing an image, there will only be a frame containing the image name for about a second, and then the image loads.

MacBook Pro 13" M1 / Safari 15.6.

Anybody else?
Is this the frame you were referring to? I just updated my phone and noticed it doing what you described. Like you, it only lasts a second and disappears. I had to be real fast to get the screenshot.

I’ve only notice it do this in very picture heavy threads like WRUW. In other threads asking for advice where there are a few pictures, those load instantly, which makes sense.

The frame happens on both my high speed internet and 5GU/W cell service.

Yes, exactly.

I tried to screen grab it but I was always too slow.

Are they loading in almost instantly or is it taking long enough to be annoying?

I can only see it if I intentionally rapidly flick through an image-heavy thread, but they still load quickly.

Almost instantly, say, one second from appearance of the frame to the pic loaded.
Not enough to be annoying.

I'm getting the feeling Apple tweaked something with this Safari release that made it more noticeable.

I'll flash up my mid 2010 MacBook Pro and see what that's like, I think it's running a few updates behind.

It works fine on my old clunker running Safari 11.1.2, none of the frames displaying, pics just loading almost instantaneously.

I'm getting the feeling Apple tweaked something with this Safari release that made it more noticeable.

Happens on Chrome also. Maybe a tweak in the latest iOS update?
