Speedmaster thoughts?

This watch has been brought to my attention as part of a trade.

This is what has been said about it, and I was wondering if anyone would be able confirm that it appears to be what it is, and how valuable it might be today and any negatives or positives? Thanks in advance. Joe G.

'Its from 1989 limited edition of 2000 watches I have the box which was a specific to the watch wooden box. The movement is the 861. The bracelet is 1171/1 with the 633 ends. They were engraved on the side of the case xxxx/2000. Model 145.022. I have everything but the patch and warranty paper'.

I'm wondering if this should have been posted in "Vintage Omega Watches Help Discussion and Advice"?

I guess because it's hard to say with just one small picture. It seems to be real if the engraving is real and movement's serial number can be confirmed. The bezel and bracelet look a little beat up for a limited edition watch. Dial and hands seem ageing quite a bit with the dark lumes and dark paint. Movement condition needs to be verified. Not sure that's the correct bracelet. Maybe someone replaced the more valuable original?

Heya, if this is the Apollo XI 20th LE (2000 units in 1989), then I believe the bracelet is wrong. It should be a 1450 or 1479.

I think there's 2 available on the sales forum for a while now, both with 1450 bracelets - which are quite nice. I think the first omega bracelet with solid links (though maybe I'm wrong on that part).

The 1450 may inflate the price by $1000 or so though.

Maybe it's just the lighting in the photo, but is that a stepped dial? Would predate 1989 by quite a bit.

Another bit. If it was the 20th, then there were 2000 made for US market (4000 also made for global market, but I don't know much about that). The first 1000 had only date inscription (xx/2000). 1000+ had “Apollo XI 1969″ as well as LE number inscribed.

Or so the story goes...
