Just wanted to say a quick thanks to all of those active Omega forum members. I have been reading the forum fairly obsessively for nearly the past two years, all the while lurking but learning a lot, thanks to your good selves. To keep a long story short, after a journey starting June 2019, I finally picked up my first brand new to me Omega, the 3861 Speedy this past Saturday (which joins my inherited Connie f300 in the collection). Very satisfied. I actually wanted it on the strap, but the economics of buying on the bracelet played a part, and I have come to really like the steel, and looking to pick up a racing type strap later in the year. This was actually my second attempt at buying a Speedy, as I ordered an 1861 (also pictured) one early into 2020, but my good wife suggested, not unwisely that 1 week into the COVID-19 pandemic, perhaps not the best use of money at that time. Anyway pics attached, and thanks again. Love it.

I still can't decide whether I like the big taper or not... Excellent watch anyway.

I bought mine over 2 years ago, wear it everyday. You will love it more and more. And TOTALLY agree Omega Forums is a great place and I know I probably would not have felt comfortable buying the watch without the knowledge I gained on the forum.

Congratulations to @Glederz and thanks to everyone on the forum for what you contribute.

Completely agree with everything @Cenzo has just wrote. OF was essential resource for me. I’m so happy with the Speedy I’m pretty much a one watch guy now. It’s my daily and no buyers remorse or regrets whatsoever. Have instead been wearing it on the Omega Nylon strap since August and it is so comfortable. Seeing the photos above with the steel bracelet has reminded me that I should probably give that a go again, but the nylon is too good to make me want to change up (though I would have done the same again, buying with the steel strap and then adding the nylon afterwards). Speedmasters suit a tonne of straps so don't be surprised if you have several in 12 months
