Speedmaster Moonphase - Today was the Day!

After many years of looking and debating today was the day. I considered the moon watch and planet ocean, but in the end I had to go with the Speedmaster Moon Phase. This is a stunning time piece! Some in this forum have talked about how big it is, but for me, it wore a lot smaller than I expected. The craftsmanship, ingenuity and all of the small little details are just so exceptional. I had the opportunity to buy a Submariner. This might be controversial to say, but I actually liked the moon phase a lot better holding them side by side. Omega is just the perfect culmination of luxury/history/innovation. My wife and daughter think I’m crazy for being so excited. Something tells me all of you will understand! LOL! Cheers!

And your thought about the Submariner was interesting. When I first bought my first 'luxury' watch, naturally, Rolex was a consideration. But then I did a side-by-side comparison. I bought an Omega then and I don't even look at the Rolex models anymore. If anything, I'm always surprised how much they keep asking for them. I don't see how their premiums are justified.

I wear my Speedmaster far more often than my Submariner or Sea Dweller, so I agree with you.

Congrats! Got mine with blue dial couple days ago. Looks great, and it is absolutely not large. Read on this forum that some members do not like it (some even used a very harsh words to describe it), but I am happy that I bought it., Looks great, stylish and can be worn even with formal attire. I think that we will certainly enjoy this great watch, as it is a stunningly looking and has a very advanced calibre 9904. Cheers!

My wife thought I was crazy when I was excited after buying my Speedmaster last year. My 4yo daughter was super excited because she recognized the watch from the astronaut photos on the wall in my office.

Congrats on the purchase. Hope it still excites you almost 2 months later!
